That's the thing he easily has most recognisable recordable voice but sadly he lacks charisma to perform.

Paul bores me to tears to be honest....as for Stevie he is just a joke, can't bare to look or listen to the guy . If it's a double kick out both groups .

His voice isn't as great as it's made out to be either though, his just been very average to poor at the lives really away from Try A Little Tenderness.

I like Paul. I am not that keen on the groups.
Stevi to live on until the very end! |

Another double? Are they reducing the number of live shows this year?

Ok so firstly since when is it a double?
And secondly I am coming to Paul's defenses as he is from my hometown. Paul was very popular and sang very well up until the lives. That's when it all started to unravel. I feel this is down to poor mentoring. Mel is so focused on Andrea that she has neglected her other acts. I feel this happens all the time with the judges, they all pick a favourite and don't seem to give two hoots about the rest. This year Mel has chosen Andrea, Cheryl has chosen Lauren, Louis chose only the young but mentoring them so very wrong, I feel Simon likes all of his acts bar stevi though. Anyway so yeah poor mentoring and he is being overshadowed by Andrea and Ben. If he went through last year I think he would have made the final. I feel he is put of his depth, he doesn't suit being famous, he is such a great singer when her feels comfortable at pubs etc I can vouch for that as I have seen him, he is a very nice guy by the way. So I feel it may be his time to go, but not entirely his fault, largely down to Mel I think, so he can come back home and stick to what he does very well. But stereo kicks and stevi deserve to go!!

Paul (like Andrea) is an example of a great voice but no star quality.
He comes across as a competition winner. |

If there will be 10 weeks of live shows, 3 final contestants and the final airs on 13th/14th December then there only needs to be one more double elimination between now and the final. I doubt they would throw in another double elimination this week.
I can see Paul going soon. He's got a good voice but he's pretty boring and I doubt will go far beyond the show. |

Andrea should make sure that he never comes out golden ever again if he wants to be taken seriously.

Paul is 1 of my favs
how can they have another double ? Dermot said 1 act will leave tomorrow in sunday results so where is this rumour coming from? we've had enough double eliminations that's enough now just get rid of 1 at a time i prefer it that way last week i dreaded the double elimination but the result was right in the end |

Paul Akister and Jay James are the early favourites to go in Sunday night’s X Factor 2014 results.
Saturday night saw the remaining nine acts performing huge hits by Michael Jackson and Queen. But illness hampered the performances with acts suffering everything from tonsillitis to soar throats. And then Stereo Kicks had to deal with a stage invasion during their performance. After all was said and done, the likes of Andrea Faustini and Lauren Platt had once again stood out but there could be bad news on the horizon for Mel. Paul is the favourite to go, possibly meaning she’ll lose her third boy in as many weeks. Jay is the 3/1 second favourite to go, spoiling Simon Cowell’s currently spotless record this year with all four acts still remaining and none having been in the bottom two. Others in the danger zone include Stereo Kicks, at 7/1, and both Only the Young and Stevi Ritchie, also at 7/1. Aoife Heffron, PR Executive at Boylesports, commented: “Paul has further shortened as the favourite to go after a flood of cash came in throughout the live show. At 8/11 it’s hard to see anyone else leave on Sunday” Week 5 on The X Factor is however somewhat mythically known for shock exits and Ben Haenow and Fleur East fit that bill at odds of 66/1 to go each. I have a feeling Only The Young will be making their second sing-off appearance this weekend. Providing they face an “over” they have a reasonable chance of survival – do the other judges really want to hear Simon still gloating over having 4 acts come this time next week?

When I listen to music I listen to the voice, couldn't give a crap about how outgoing they are, how good they are at prancing around the stage or if they have great abs - it is the voice which gives me pleasure and Paul had one of the best voices in the competition. He lacked confidence but that would have come with time and experience. How that idiot Stevie can stay longer than quality like Paul just proves what a joke the show has become and, quite frankly, the amount of idiots that vote. Like attracts like. Louis once again let Paul down - full of crap about how he loved Paul and then when he has chance to make up for his humungus cock-up last year letting Paul go, he is as predictable as ever and bails. He is as big a joke as Stevie and those voting to keep him in. |

You make a lot of assumptions based off my vague post. I didn't say he was quiet. His personality does go hand in hand with how he sings too. To sing on a stage you need to own it, have everyone looking at you, have everyone in awe of you. When Paul sings I find I'm just looking at my phone or something else. He's singing really well, but he's not grabbing my attention, I'm not admiring his voice and performance, and I'm pretty bored when he performs. If Paul was just played on a CD to me I would like him more. But in a competition like X Factor it's more about the performance and 'owning it'. I agree about Stevi though. He's a mess and I hope he goes soon. It's all fun and games but Stevi needs to go to Butlins and get off the big stage. |

Here for Paul finally being given the boot. Would have preferred Jay to go last night though. Both bore me to tears so hopefully Jay will go next week.
