One of my favourite artists of all time.
Wish he'd written more songs. Certainly should of done given the great tracks he did write. Last edited by Ryan57; 05-11-2014 at 08:27 PM. |

Remembering Kerry

As in Ammi's post, for me 'the Killing of Georgie' is the best Rod Stewart song.
Really quite haunting and with a strong message to it too. |

..(I believe..)..it was a friend of his who obviously struggled in coming out with his sexuality 'back in the day' but eventually did and his parents, especially his father were not very supportive..he eventually went to live in New York where he was murdered..I'm not entirely sure if it was a homophobic attack....when he sings 'oh, Georgie stay, don't go away..Georgie please stay, you take out breath away...'...it really does move me to tears, it's a song I don't listen to very often because of the emotion of it....
