Ola Jordan plans to quit Strictly Come Dancing in order to join Channel 4 show The Jump.
The Strictly pro has apparently signed up a deal to appear on the Splash-like reality series in the new year, alongside husband and former CBB housemate James Jordan. The Sun newspaper reports that a spot on The Jump is just the start of a two-year deal between the Jordans and Channel 4 which will see them ultimately with their own show. “Ola’s become disillusioned with working for the BBC and she and James want to do their own thing,” a source told the newspaper. “Channel Four are offering them a really good package.” They explained the long-term plan: “She’s going to do the Jump at the start of next year and they are lining up a dance reality show for them to star in. “They feel they will get far more creative control than they had at the Beeb — and they are definitely going to earn a hell of a lot more cash.” The insider claimed that Ola’s exit will be a “huge blow” to Strictly. “She has been there since 2006 and won the whole thing with Chris Hollins in 2009, so she will be a big loss,” they said. Good on them and for their plans but I really don't think 'Strictly' is about any professional dancer really.
Many have come and gone and she is just another. It is good to have new faces as the professional dancers too anyway. |

Snow way! Davina is back with a brand new merry band of brave celebrities for series two of The Jump.
Sixteen famous faces are currently in training for the second series of Channel 4’s daring winter sports competition, which will be back on the box in early 2015. Limbering up to take The Jump Cowbell Trophy from series one champion Joe McElderry, are eight brave men and eight gutsy women who all determined to land the perfect live ski jump. The all-star male line-up competing in the eight extreme sporting events includes ex-England Rugby captain Mike Tindall, Jack Ass star Steve-O, JLS singer JB Gill, Paralympian Jon-Allan Butterworth, dancer Louie Spence, Gogglebox star Dom Parker, TV & radio presenter and former England cricketer Phil Tufnell and TV personality Joey Essex. The famous ladies with their eyes on the prize will be philanthropist Heather Mills, wife of the Speaker of the House of Commons Sally Bercow, ex-Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, pop star Stacey Solomon, ballroom dancer Ola Jordan, socialite Lady Victoria Hervey, Heptathlete Louise Hazel and Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson. The sixteen celebrities have already begun their gruelling training as they prepare to kick off the series with the Jump In. The competitors will go head-to-head in the Skeleton, reaching speeds of up to 60mph, with the fastest men and women qualifying directly for the show. The slowest celebrities will have to take on a live ski jump to secure their place, with those who jump the shortest distances joining The Subs Bench. The contenders will be perfecting their Ski Jump under the watchful eye of legendary Winter Olympian Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards. They will also be put through their paces by a team of top coaches including Winter Olympic skier Graham Bell, Winter Olympic Skeleton gold medallist Amy Williams and snowboarder Jenny Jones, the first Brit to win a Winter Olympic medal in a slope event, winning bronze in Slopestyle at the 2014 Sochi games. The full line up of events will be revealed in January and is set to include some exciting new additions alongside first series favourites such as Bobsleigh, Slalom and the event that saw Sir Steve Redgrave and Marcus Brigstocke crash out of the competition in style, Ski Cross.
