Default Is it time to bring back Foxhunting?

David Cameron has started a search for MPs who will help him reintroduce fox-hunting “by the back door”.

He and the environment secretary, Owen Paterson, want to use a parliamentary device known as a statutory instrument to amend the Hunting Act, and have provisionally booked parliamentary time on March 26 to debate the idea. They are now canvassing support among MPs of all parties.

The aim would be to lift the ban on hunting with any more than two dogs in England and Wales, which means using packs of up to 40 hounds would again become legal, although dogs would still not be allowed to kill foxes — death would have to be through shooting.

http://labourlist.org/2014/03/is-dav...k-fox-hunting/

Is it time to bring back this tradition to the UK that helps farmers up and down the country and boosts tourism?

I'm pretty sure there are many more productive ways of boosting tourism which happen not to involve death

The Conservatives aim to bring it back when they win the election this year

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/gene...-election.html

This will be welcomed by farmers and livestock owners

yup
a lot of my birds (we have chickens and geese) have been murdered by them just for fun- not even to use them for food. if they used them for food i wouldnt mind as much but its not a nice sight to see one of the cute birds you see every day with the neck ripped off and left there to rot. It's sad too- It sounds bizarre but every bird had a personality and is usually very friendly, and then they're just murdered.
i hate it
recently it happened to one of our geese we raised up from a baby, and that happened on christmas eve. when I posted it on here a certain somebody was like 'i'm sorry for your loss but foxes are cute little baba wild doggies- they don't know what they're doing!' which was honestly an extremely stupid thing for them to say.

So you're saying humans that murder other things for fun is just 'the circle of life'? 'Cause that's what foxes are doing.

There's a huge difference between human murderers and animals who hunt things..

I mean, it's sad that you lost your birds, but that's what foxes do, they hunt wild things, that's what they're taught to do from birth, human murderers aren't raised to kill people, so comparing to two instances is a completely redundant argument

It's all about understanding , humans are supposed to understand it's wrong to do certain things, you cant sit and animal down and explain why it's wrong,it's there instinct ,the most dangerous animal on earth is man.

Not at all, I cannot believe the Conservative party under David Cameron are even looking at trying to make this legal again.

Where I was born,I once saw a hunt when I was just a child, and saw the totally exhausted fox ripped to pieces still alive, with these horrible well fed so called pompous male adults laughing, joking and celebrating.

I was physically sick and have hated the idea of foxhunting ever since, never mind it being legal.

What a horrible policy to want to bring into force, awful thing for awful people with really sick and awful minds.

I'm sorry LT,but I agree with Joey,if farmers want to keep their livestock safe, they should shell out more money to build them decent hen-houses etc,not the knocked together homemade shacks most have to live in,but lets be honest some sub humans just love to see something suffer for their entertainment,Go to Spain and China now THAT would open peoples eyes, and those tossers who have to don a red coat to get an even bigger thrill are scum.

We did- They have security fences and henhouses to stay in, but they literally work as hard as they can to just break in.

Will you kindly stop lecturing me please.

I saw a hunt that distressed me as a child, I was sickened by those on horseback who were enjoying every minute of the rotten event.

Yes foxes cause damage in hen houses, I am aware of that, that is an animal killing other animals, have you seen what cats do to birds too.

I am against fox hunting and look with total contempt on those who take part in it and enjoy it.
There are other ways to kill nuisance foxes instaed of having these privileged people riding through the countryside, chasing one fox until it is totally exhausted and then seeing it ripped apart alive.

Look, you leave me be and don't respond to my posts again. I am fed up of you lecturing me and twisting what I say.
You likely insult far more people than I likely ever will with your snidey comments you make at them and since we are talking about people who hunt who are not on tibb, I can say what I like about them without any direction from you, thank you very much..

Just don't lecture me on what I should think or how I have arrived at the views I have from my childhood and adult experiences.
Just don't respond to my posts again, just get on annoying others and winding them up, I am fed up of your nonsense.
