The nominations twist

Was there any need for the 2nd part of the twist? I mean, it was actually a good idea for them to kind of 'reverse nominate' (if that's even a thing). The 2 housemates left on the wall face eviction, simple, but Big Brother being there usual selves couldn't leave it at that
