You're moaning that the forum isn't all peaceful, and yet you just 'insulted' someone in another thread. Yeah, the forum's peaceful....

No, think again buster.

I'm moaning because the forum has gone all soppy and everyones licking booty like theres a shortage of it.

And if you care to look at the thread, it was a joke... yes people with no sense of humour will take it the wrong way... Is that my problem? No.

I could insult though, i'm good at that.

I'm 'friends' with people on here but it doesn't mean I make appreciation threads about them and vote for them for the pure hell of it.

If I wanted to be so upfront with them, I’d actually cut to the chase and get on my knees and give them a hoot.

I have never agreed about all these threads asking for you too vote for the best members etc.... It's a lose/lose situation, because people actually take it too heart... and even though I may have voted in the past in such threads I don't like them... it's utter poop and totally pointless.

If it's a valid competition where you have to vote for a members work...song... etc then yeah I can deal with that but these self actualized, self indulgent, self infatuating, self gratification threads are gayer then Dale Winton at a Christina Aguilera dance class.

Surely if they were so great, they wouldn't need 'bigging up'... they'd already know this from the 60 million other threads making there ever expanding cranium's gigantic.

I admit there are quite a few, but then we were doing it every week whilst BB7 was going on. It was a way to acknowledge who made posts people agreed with etc. which IMO is what a forum’s all about! The nominations going on at the moment are basically there to round off what has been a good year for the forum, with lots of new active members…Plus, a lot of people are talking outside the forum, have made friends with people similar to them, and yes we are on first name terms.

Any TiBB nominations we did during BB7 especially, I never saw as booty-licking. It was a way for us to appreciate posts/people we liked. Happens all the time. Otherwise, you may as well go off on one and criticise all award ceremonies etc. which are on a bigger scale.

So to cut a long story short, everyone’s taking part, so if anyone has a problem, they need not vote.

I do agree with there being a lot of “who’s your favourite member” topics and they do grow tired

And I know I am one of them who have made them topics but I have had compliments of the tibb member awards and I have only done it twice (third coming up) I think it’s a nice time to say were grateful of your posts so heres a little something.

But I only get involved in a couple of the many of them around… but people enjoy them so I say let it be (but some do overcrowd the forum)

There is a lot of them, and it's basically a masked "popularity contest" - but I don't mind them. They don't really threaten the overall social cohesion of the forum - and it's better than arguing.
It also gives you a chance to acknowledge a member who contributes well to the forum - although they're mainly used to name-drop friends.

I don't understand WHY?! there is another of these threads and WHY?! people keep questioning why threads are made as no matter how much you/we/her/him/it complain about certain threads then they are never going to stop as they are always very popular so therefore i think everyone should stop asking WHY?! and start saying 'Oooo'.

It not hard just don't look in the thread, instead of moaning bout it.
