Yeah - 'Knock down the Churches' - It will save the 'Islamic Fundamentalist Government Of New Britain' doing it when they take the UK over if something is not done soon about our Open Door immigration policy.

Only fair really, I mean the new government then, will be far too busy CREATING the fecking dead by the millions to be bothered by trivialities like where to bury all the freshly beheaded corpses.

Cracking idea Arista - 'knock down the Churches' because there won't be any Christians left to attend them anyway.

If people want to be buried, they should be able to be.

When you take a plot in a cemetery it is only bought for around 100 years, obviously if the graves are attended and looked after nothing is likely to happen to that after the time is passed.
Anyway the option to 'own' it longer could be brought in and cost amended accordingly.

I understand if graves have been ignored ad have fallen into decay, then those graves can be used again anyway

Another way round it, and I don't know if this happens yet or not,it could be done so that graves are dug deep enough to take 3 or even 4 burials rather than just 1 or 2 people.

Knock down the churches is not an answer at all in my view,I have many bad things to say about the Churches, such as being locked all day while people freeze outside them at night as well as during the day.
I would never agree to them being knocked down however, whatever for.

Do you think the Council or Church
can afford to do that?

I spoke with a very progressive Councillor once that suggested that once passed that people once passed could be used to generate energy by a facility attached to the crematorium, I think that is a good idea.
Ether that or as Joe says family plots, it's all for land anyway as it's at a premium right now, councils don't want to waste money filling it with dead people.

Shades of Zyklon 'B'?

Why don't we just freeze them all immediately upon death (or within a week whilst still 'fresh-ish') and ship them abroad to feed starving cannibals? I mean, there must be a few tribes of starving cannibals hiding somewhere on the globe.

Or how about dressing up all the dead in full army battle fatigues and propping them up in troop carriers to make all our many enemies believe that we still have a formidable army instead of the three dozen soldiers we do still have?

(I love this game of theorising what to do with our dead now - the possibilities are endless.)

I have no idea what you're referring to there, it was this that we were discussing...

Afford to do what.

Any extra burials in the plot would be paid from from the funeral expenses of the new deceased going into it.

It would hardly cost much as to digging the plots even deeper.

At the moment it's wasted energy, I can't see why anyone would be that adverse to the idea. There would be facilities that don't generate and the traditional burial as an alternative.

Don't give the tories any ideas Arista! They're already pushing the concept of insects as a protein replacement for meat :/

My wife wrote an article about this - they're actually really good for you. Full of protein and other good things, high energy, basically no "crap"... Plus VERY easy a nd economical to farm, and far fewer of the ethical implications (insects do not have the self awareness to experience emotions like fear, unlike mammals.)

But... Could you? Could you actually sit and eat a plate of the little critters??

Yeah, of course - Every time I've had a salad in certain dubious eateries.

You know, if they were ethically and organically produced I don't think I'd mind a 50/50 mix in a burger or whatever but in their natural state?...
