It was perfect for some of us night owls and others used to have it on like they would the radio throughout the day, with lots of people discussing it on forums. The idea is the viewers feel closer to the housemates as a result and care more about them. The more they care the more they talk about it, vote on it and continue to watch it. Channel 5 have built up a brick wall between the viewers and the show.

The live feed was also perfect for this new age of 24/7 social networking we live in. Everything needs to be faster paced/more immediate. That's what you got with the live coverage. Now you don't know what's going on until 24 hrs later (the face to face nominations for example)

It was good as a school kid during the school holidays, where I'd be up late and could usually catch Victor and Jason up late chatting, or Maxwell and Anthony.

But now as a grown adult, I wouldn't care for live at all.

One only need look at the people on Digital Spy to know it is mostly older people who would watch it throughout the day and at night. But many young people would put it on as well

That is the thing, I would put it on between the stuff I do normally. Sometimes even don't have time to watch the nightly highlight show but that won't matter if there was feed

Tonight could be make or break for a series that's in a major ratings crisis

So ratings around the 1-1.2m mark not great but still above channel 5s other programmes
