I was referring to Westerners getting involved in it all and the logic behind thinking it's fine to kill other animals but dogs are special, particularly Aristas post that claimed killing dogs was evil but it's not evil to kill other animals

But we don't eat horse either and they're domesticated so why aren't people out raged by that? It just seems really hypocritical to say it's ok to eat one type of animal but say it's evil to eat another imo

I don't think that's ok either Niamh,it's probably easier for me as I'm a veggie,I have no problem with people eating meat if that is what they want to do,I do object to the way animals are killed,they are sentient beings ,they feel pain.

I see where you're coming from Kazanne and I think you have more weight behind your views as you are a vegetarian but my point with Arista here is that firstly I don't think he's a vegetarian and secondly he doesn't seem to be arguing because of how they're killed but that they just shouldn't be because they're dogs

Yes, if you are outraged by this then you should be equally outraged by slaughter of all animals. We have domesticated dogs and have attachments to them as a society as a result of that, but that doesn't make it any more immoral than killing another kind of animal.
