Default Charley's Big Brother Return Interview

Big Brother can't get enough of former housemates this series, and this week the Hotel BB shopping task will see a whole host of special guests popping in for a (probably not so luxury) stay. And the first person to check in was Big Brother 8's Charley Uchea, which we'll get to see on tonight's highlights.

She checked out again today after one night so we got her on the phone to find out what the experience was like - from flirting with Marc, to who should be evicted, to why there are condoms lying about all over the house...

Hi Charley! What was it like going back in the house? Was it a bit strange?
"It was definitely strange but other than that it was brilliant, to be honest. I had a wicked time."

Do you wish you'd stayed a bit longer?
"Oh yeah, of course. Don't get me wrong, it's a bit different to when I was there because we get locked in the bedroom at 2am – I was drunk so I wanted to party on! I got told to shut up by Big Brother because I wouldn't stop talking and John [McCririck] was trying to sleep beside me. I don't think I'd have liked to stay longer than a week, I'm not going to lie, but two more days I think would have been fab."

Do you feel like you made the most of your time? Did you get everything you wanted to do done?
"I think so. I wasn't looking to go in and have more rows like I did before – it's been a few years, I've grown up a bit since the last time I was there!"

You were so controversial when you were on Big Brother the first time – how do these housemates compare?
"Everyone's different, aren't they, really? The only thing I can say is that going back into that house, they made me feel very welcome and they're very calm and nice people. They genuinely just are nice characters. Whereas on my year I think everybody, where it might have been a bit newer than this is, they tried too hard in my year. The reason I was argumentative before was that they rubbed me up the wrong way, I was there a lot longer and they were all dull if I'm going to be really honest."

Marc seemed to take a liking to you – what did you make of that?
"I genuinely like him. I haven't watched the show that much because I've been away, but what I'd say is that Aisleyne was getting the hump with me now and then because she thought I was sticking up for him a bit when John was going to have a go at him. But at the end of the day, I'm not a bully and just because other people don't like him doesn't mean I don't like him. I don't know if he was just faking it. He'd be stupid if he didn't [like me] because I think I'm pretty hot! I'm joking. But it was quite nice him liking me! It was all banter really."

Would you like to see him on the outside? Are you interested in him at all?
"Not really, no. No, I'm not going to lie, I'm not interested. I think he's nice looking but he's not my type. He's a good looking chap. But they're all lovely guys in there. I think Danny has got something about him, I think they're all nice guys. But did I fancy any of them? No, I didn't."

You said Marc might have been faking it - do you think he was using you because he thought you might have some power?
"Probably, and also he probably thought where I'm in there for the night I might have the cameras more on me, because I know he enjoys the cameras. Who doesn't enjoy the cameras? I don't know if he was faking it – he said he usually likes mixed race girls and I'm just his type. Before he said that I was like, 'Do you just do this with all the girls that come in?' And he said, 'No, you're my type'. He didn't say it to Helen, he didn't say it to Aisleyne. I don't know with him. You don't know how to take him. Obviously I'm only in there for the night so I don't really know his character. He might have rubbed me up the wrong way after a few weeks if I was there longer. But I don't know if he was faking it – maybe he did like me! Who knows?"

There were a few rows about him antagonising Brian and pushing Brian to leave. Do you think he was responsible?
"Not really, no. I think he got in with Helen and Helen went for it. We all know that what Helen said was wrong, but we all know that arguments happen in the house. It's part of it, isn't it, really. But do I think he was the reason? No, I don't think he was definitely the reason why Brian left. He left because of Helen, but as they were a team, he's now getting stick for it because she's left. At the end of the day, I think he's just there to have a laugh. He's a bloody wind-up merchant, don't get me wrong, because he kept coming wherever I was and doing this loud scream, and I mean you jump out of your body. You really do. But other than that, I don't really know. I haven't watched so I don't know too much of how he is but I had a laugh with him, I thought he was a lovely guy. I thought he was jokes to be honest with you. The rest of them are lovely characters but they're just a bit quiet. Maybe they're just laid back people. But he made me laugh. He gave me the giggles."

Do you think he could be in with a chance of winning then?
"I'm not sure about that! I'm not sure about that. I don't know how he's portrayed out here, I have no idea – I really don't. But he might have a chance. I didn't think Helen would win it last year, but she did! I doubt it though. I think he's too strong a character in there to win it. They usually go for someone a bit safer, don't they? But good luck to whoever wins and if he wins, good luck to him."

You spoke to Harry and Nick about their relationship – what's going on there?
"You know what, I think they're all virgins in the house! There is something weird – not even weird, but definitely different about these boys in the house. I mean, they all talking about doing whatever, let's not go there, on their own. There's all condoms around the house which I couldn't understand because there's no sex going on – it's just really peculiar! But their relationship – she really does like him, but she's quite a saucy character, isn't she? There's something about her! I did think he might be thinking too much of what his parents would think. But he does like her - I think it's a genuine like. But you do get a bit desperate when you're in there. I can't say that I did because there was no-one in my year that I would ever fancy, but when you're in there for a while you get a bit desperate and characters will get together and like each other that usually wouldn't like each other. "

There's Danny and Aisleyne too – what do you make of that? Is there anything there?
"I don't think they'll get in a relationship on the outside, I'm not going to lie, but there's something they like about each other. It might be the same – because they're in the house together. But when you get out, things are different – you all go your separate ways. You all say you might meet up and they might meet up, but I don't think there'll be anything other than that to be honest with you. I think it's just a bit of flirting."

How do you think Aisleyne's been doing?
"I haven't watched too much, but she's done alright. Me and her nearly had an argument because she was telling me to shut up because John was saying on our way out of the house that he thinks [Marc's] poisonous, but I just think at the end of the day you're allowed your opinions but don't go too nasty. I think I've changed because I've got older – I'm just not so malicious any more, I'm not a horrible person! I think she's doing well. The only problem that I have with Aisleyne, which was annoying me a little bit if I'm going to be honest – she worries too much about what people on the outside think about her. With me, I don't give a flying hoot who likes me and who doesn't. She kept worrying about that, and also it's spoiling her time being there that she keeps going on about Marc. It almost gets to the point where I don't want to hear it. I had to keep walking away. Obviously, she's like, 'Babe, you don't know, you haven't been in the house', but I've watched a bit and I've seen what he's like. Until he's going to wind me up I'm not going to be horrible to him. That's not my character and it would go against everything I believe in. She's been worrying too much – she had anxiety last night and she couldn't breathe and all this other stuff. It's too much."

Do you think she's been taking it a bit too seriously?
"Yeah, she does, she does a bit. She needs to just loosen up and just have fun with it. What does it matter? He's winding you up – get over it now. She kept going back to, 'He made Brian leave'. Well, he pissed off Brian, but Brian's a big boy, he's a big man, he knows how to argue and defend himself. If you can't take the heat in there, you shouldn't go on the programme. That's all it is at the end of the day. They're all old people – they're not babies."

Harry, Jack, Marc and Sam are nominated this week – who do you think should be evicted?
"I wouldn't say throw Marc out of the house – that would be ridiculous to be honest with you, because at the end of the day, they're all beautiful people, don't get me wrong, but there wouldn't be much to watch, just being honest. They always hate the people and then they chuck us out and there's no entertainment left. He winds up people, so I definitely don't think he should go. I don't know who should be evicted."

Do you think everyone's been getting on a little too well?
"Yeah. I'm not saying that arguments make a TV show, I'm not saying that at all, but yeah, everyone is getting on too well. I don't think there's really going to be much to watch. I think all the rows are the show – I've got to be honest! Aisleyne, Danny and Marc at the moment, that's where the arguments are going to keep going on, and it's quite fun to watch. I had my popcorn ready when it was going off last night – it was hilarious. I was sitting there slurping on my tea – it was funny."

Who do you think should win?
"I think Jack. Everyone thinks that because… he's boring. Not that that makes you a winner. But maybe he deserves the money. There's a lot of people in there that have got quite nice lifestyles outside the house – I don't think it would be fair to give them whatever the prize money is. But Jack, I just think he's quite an innocent little child. But he's another that just sits there on the bench a bit and keeps wondering what's going on and thinking about what's going to happen. It's quite annoying to watch. I don't know who should win to be honest – whoever wins deserves it. But I like them all so I can't really say."

If they invited you back in the future, would you return to the show?
"100%. Definitely. Of course I would. It's wicked, man. Just throw me into the house. Honest to God, this is how real a person I am – the minute I walked into that house I don't even think about the cameras. They're in your face moving around but you don't even think of them like that. Maybe it's because I've been in there before for two months, I don't know. But personally for me, it just felt like I walked into a house and was sitting with Aisleyne having cigarettes and alcohol – I stole a bit of alcohol! I was so drunk! But I would definitely go back in – it was an experience and I loved it. One day was a bit too short but I'm not really a person who likes rules. I'll break the rules because I can't stand rules. But if they asked me I'd definitely be up for it – why not?"

Big Brother airs tonight (June 30) at 10pm on Channel 5.
