Actually agreed with Danny about this - 'every student is'.

Student debt isn't the same as regular debt. I'm in a lot of debt (due to my own stupidity, mind) and the pressure to pay it off is entirely different. Cristian hardly has bailiffs knocking on his door for his student loan back.

Jack has mentioned before that he's in debt because of his gambling problem.

Depends when he started. If you started prior to 2012 the 9k increase doesn't stand.

It is the same when applying for a mortgage for example,it is taken into account at that time,with student debts ranging from over Ł20,000 to over Ł40,000 that can make a considerable difference.
