between 20 - 50 million people are injured in car crashes every year and over 3000 people die every day in car crashes i dont get the weird fixation with plane crashes which are so rare.

Well you've sorta answered your own question there - plane crashes are very rare and when they happen they tend to be quite dramatic so they are focused on more. It being such an infrequent occurrence is what fuels the 'fixation'
