Default Shopping

Was reading this article today about the different shopping traits depending on when you were born. Any ring the bell of truth.

Shopping star signs
Mltb – most likely to buy

Aries – impulsive, you don’t believe in window shopping – you want it and you want it now. Your credit cards control your life and ten to one they’re out of control.
Most likely to buy – fast cars, gadgets, smart gym memberships, stylish (but not top designer) clothes, sports gear, adventure holidays.

Taurus. Greedy. You carry on spending way after you have enough. However you like good value and bargains. You’re the kind of person who shops late at the supermarket for marked-down produce.
Mltb gourmet good, smart top quality clothes in bright colours, cosmetics and luxurious bath oil, flowers and plants gold jewellery

Gemini = slapdash. The slogan when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping was invented for Geminis. You love culture, socialising and travel and all those things take money. However you are a smart shopper who always find the best deeals and the biggest bargains
Mltb - theatre and film tickets the latest mobile or laptop, sports cars, fashionable eye catching clothes, unusual jewellery a good haircut

Leo – flamboyant. You’re in love with luxury and cant say no to yourself. You give a new meaning to extravagance. Most Leos live well beyond their means you flex plastic until its double jointed
Mltb - clothes (a mix of smart tailoring stylist casuals and lots of evening wear) beauty treatments and spa days, bold home furnishings, good wine, presents for everyone.

Virgo – frugal to the extreme. If you can grow it, make it or refashion it you’ll do that rather than buying new. If not, there’s always the car boot sale. If you do buy new, you buy the very best you can afford – so it will last
Mltb - books and magazines; good-quality practical clothes, computers, bicycles, or sensible cars, alternative therapy treatments, nutritional supplements and herbal remedies.

Libra – extravagant. Though that’s only because you love beauty and elegance and every so often you find totally beautiful things you absolutely must need. But making up your mind is absolute agony, so you’re a nightmare to go shopping with.
Mltb – stylish home accessories, highly fashionable clothes and smart accessories, expensive haircuts, facials and manicures, cosmetics and bodycare, find bone china, hardback novels.

Scorpio – addictive. You’re a quiet secretive shopper – no girly shopping trips for you. Spending makes you fell in control and can be habit forming. You notice every detail and pick shrewdly. However, every so often you fly off on a spending spree that make Imelda Marcos look frugal.
Mltb – books, books and more books ,CDs, good food and wine, gym or health club memberships, leather sofas or jackets.

Sagittarius – enthusiastic. Money can run through your fingers and as you rarely ever balance your chequebook or check your credit card statements, you often go wildly over budget. If overdrafts didn’t exist, you’d invent them.
Mltb – camcorders and cameras, books, souvenirs, patio heaters and barbecues, designer casual clothes, and colourful sweaters, sportswear and equipment

Capricorn – careful. Shopping expeditions are perfectly planned. You love lists and hate credit cards. If you cant afford it, you wont have it. It has to be quality – and if its cut-price in the sales, even better. You find it hard to resist a genuine bargain.
Mltb – high-quality designer clothes, bargain haute couture, handmade shoes, a house in the right neighbourhood, private schooling for the children, latest laptop, biographies and self-improvement books.

Aquarius – Wacky. You can make a small budget go a long way. You’re and innovative, creative shopper and quite canny with your money. Some Aquarians, however, totally lose the plot when shopping.
Mltb – electronic equipment and gadgets, computer magazines, science fiction novels, flying lessons, unusual objets, classic cars, vintage clothing.

Pisces – Emotional. You can either be shrewd and sensible or wildly reckless. You tend to be an emotional shopper. If it ‘speaks to you’ you have to have it.
Mltb – cushions, romantic novels, CDs and musical instruments, shoes, flowing comfortable clothes, tarot card readings and astrological charts.

BTW mines Pisces and I just happened to go shopping on Saturday and bought - new cushions, Norah Jones CD and a new pair of shoes - spooky. But I am definitely not musical

Mine's Libra and I have to admit they are right. I hate shopping with myself!

The only thing which isn't right is the clothes bit. If I was a size 12 mind, I think they would be spot on!

I'm a Taurean and the bit about liking good value and bargains is right. I also buy plants occasionally. Nothing else is even close, though.

If anyone I know is reading this please don't be thinking that cushions, romantic novels, tarot card readings or astrological charts are acceptable Christmas presents.

Because they're not.

Well wide of the mark.

Add electrical to the gagets, knock out the gym, sports and adventure part of the holidays and there is definately something in it .....but and there is a BIG but..my credit cards are never out of control. It is against my religion to pay interest to anyone.

PS
Mr. Boris is aquarius but apart from being 'tight' nothing else fits him !

I'm Aries too, Boris - but this is WAY wide of the mark in my case.

I hate, loathe and detest shopping . . . . of any kind . . . . . period.

I can't drive, don't go to the gym, don't see the point in wasting money on designer clothers (sorry Helen!!), and my ideal holiday certainly wouldn't involve adventure.

Sorry!

I am an Aries. The only part that relates to me is the impulsive buying of gadget's. My kitchen is full of weird and wonderful electical equipment. I must add that since buying most of the things they have been used once and then relegated to a cupboard.
I have electrical tools coming out of my ears ( not a good sight ). In fact I have just bought myself a power nailer.
I love do it yourself, so these things are not wasted like the kitchen gadgets.
What a waste of money.

Kaz, you look pretty damn good for someone who doesn't do something dramatic to stay in shape. (Hey, and I mean that purely in a friendship way!!!)

If you tell me you can eat anything and always stay the same weight, I'll just scream!

Why thank you, ROB - I'll take that in the spirit in which it was intended.

Actually, I'm afraid you're right - I eat like a horse!! *sticks fingers in ears to drown out the screams*!!!

You must have seen the mammoth plateful I wolfed down at the Convention. I've a savoury rather than sweet tooth, though.

Sorry - I must burn off the calories by other means. (such as walking the dog!!! )

P.S. Your new avatar is LUSH!

On Richard and Judy today there was an astrologer who looked at what people had bought in a shopping centre and then asked them a couple of questions about their shopping habits then guessed their star sign.

She was correct on all three occasions!

Mind you, one of the presenters introduced the first shopper and said "It's her birthday today." Think about it .... gives her star sign away!!
