Default Tryweryn, 50 years on...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS7E3O1mVAE

A story ignored by fleet street and bbc England....this was the tragic tale of a beautiful rural welsh village drowned to build a reservoir to supply water to Liverpool.

built by Liverpool corporation ....the people were forced out. This project was one of dozens built by the English in wales in the last 150 years....drowning out many welsh villages....by this time the welsh had a gutsful. a strong welsh speaking community living peacefully. the welsh never had a great strive for power , they didn't seek independence like the scots. but this changed matters and showed them they had no real power over their own towns.

most of the welsh fighting this were pacifists....though one or 2 burnt down holiday homes in protest. how would you feel if the Chinese made a deal to drown out your town to supply water to shanghai?

im an Englishman in wales but this brings tears to my eyes
