her so-called pressures and mental health problems are all stemming from her own vanity and narcissism. how can anyone have sympathy for that? not to mention that her social media career was all about perpetuating those societal pressures to other girls and she was profiting from it the whole time.

...wow, that's the first time I've seen this and don't know who she is or what has led up to this but that's extremely heartfelt..I have sons and they don't really do social media but I've heard some really grim stuff from friends who have daughters...my niece used to do modelling and some movie work and I know that she had some bad stuff said as well on things like Facebook, although as a balance to that, she had some very lovely and supportive stuff as well...
..I don't think this is just a 'teenage' thing though, people can be whoever/whatever they want to be online and sadly, too many choose to be people who have no thought for others or their lives..it's more about the 'impact' and being noticed... I agree with her, being themselves/whatever themselves is and not looking for that impact is the only way I think, that they can ever be happy with who they are and begin to understand and like themselves.. |
