Default The Murder Game

This is from Digitalspy, looks like it could be quite a good show

BBC prepares to play 'The Murder Game'

The BBC's new reality show The Murder Game will begin this Saturday in a primetime slot on BBC One.

The eight-part series, set in a fictitious village called Blackwater, begins with the murder of Catherine Prior in the local church.

Ten contestants, referred to as 'investigators', work together to track down the killer from a potential nine suspects. Working on the case under the guidance of a former DCS Bob Taylor, the investigators will visit various locations around the village to gather clues and interview the suspects.

In each episode, two investigators will be nominated to take part in 'The Killer's Game'. The two will go alone to separate locations in the village -- one will return, but one will fall victim to the killer and be eliminated from the game.

The BBC has spent 18 months reworking the programme since it was bought from FOX, the US network which aired the original series called Murder in Small Town X. Whilst the original flopped in the ratings, the BBC has high hopes for its own version, which it is putting in a post-9pm slot on BBC One.

As is typical of most reality series nowadays, support programming will be offered on the BBC's digital station BBC Three with extra footage on interactive service BBCi. The BBC Three show, The Murder Game: Inside HQ -- airing immediately after the main programme -- will focus on the inter-team politics.

The interactive service will be available on all digital platforms, offering:

The latest 'Killer Clue'
Interview with the most recently eliminated investigator
Repeats of the show
Video news reports from the village
Viewer voting on the killer's identity
Chief Detective's opinion and reactions
Investigator profiles
Recap of clues gathered so far
Information on the victims and suspects
Timelines and village maps

"This is a radical reworking of the Murder in Small Town X format," said a BBC spokesman. "In the US they put a much bigger emphasis on the dramatic side and the relationships between the investigators. We've gone much bigger on the investigation."

Any distraction would be welcome at the moment. I'll definitely give it a try.

I quite enjoyed it, but I've got the feeling some of them have got a very competitive nature and I think there will be some judicious nominating going on.

Not sure when its on next, but it should be easy enough to pick up.

Synopsis sister of the bride killed in a church, video tape belonging to best man goes missing, found later with message to investigators, father of bride changes his story 24 hours after first being spoken to (he has a criminal record), bride looking for missing necklace that her sister had been wearing.

Killer toying with investigators.

In all 9 suspects, I dont think we've met them all.

I think it is either the Bride(Goldie) or the bridegroom (Jay) I dont think it is Dean

But those are my thoughts on who the suspects could be from the first one

I would like Mel to win because like she said she doesnt want to be portrayed as a dumb blonde lapdancer.

I think Richard is very competitive

I agree with you about Mel, there is something i liked about her and i hope she does well.
Nick looks to be very good too but Richard

For anyone who has missed out the BBC site is quite good
http://www.bbc.co.uk/murdergame/
And as mentioned above Digital Spy is good too http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...12571b6ds.html

I am not sure yet but i have heard that the interactive is repeated every night between 9pm and 2 am, i can't check as i am taping but maybe those with digital, satellite or freeview can look, i'll look later and get back to you

On Freeview channel 701 between 9pm and 2am they are showing parts of the programme along with a menu
Don't know about SKY or NTL but hope this helps some of you

Thanks Kazisme

I'm NTL and even though I haven't checked what sort of interactive coverage we get I know it will be similar to Telewest. The problem is that the cable digital services don't have enough bandwidth to offer a decent interative services..

It's always the same with BB as well - I never get good coverage for that either.
