Default So the producers told Gemma to say she was ill

because they knew what task was coming and that she wouldnt do it

How desperate are they for her to win?

Unfortunately for them, the public wont let the slug walk away with it!

There's no way she can win. She doesn't have enough support.

She can always try a few Acrow props and about £20,000 worth of scaffolding.

Otherwise, she'll just have to let it all hang.

Sadly Gemma will win (unless Scotty T shows signs of life. Even Geordie pal cbb winner thinks he's been dull) as she has no opposition as a contender. She has a big fan base, air time etc. Apparently she's an argumentive contentious diva on TOWIE, so it's not as if Gemma is acting in a way that will disappoint her fans.

Yes she has haters but the anti Gemma vote will be split, who will they vote for? Stephanie? Darren? Tiff? Scotty?

I don't really care about the order other than Tffany winning and I'd prefer it if Darren came second. I dont think theres anyone else worthy tbh. Scotty's been okay though, overated with the bookies, social media and people I know but underated on tibb, he isn't that boring!

Unless she's evicted or out first in final anything else is a victory.

I don't know much about TOWIE but doesn't it have a huge fan base and is she not one of the main stars of it ? In fareness to Gemma I would imagine she is brilliant for the format of that show. I just don't think shes adapted herself to the format of this one. She was never gonna be one of my favourites but if she'd at least tried to be a team player I would have respected her more.

In the show she did go to the diary room and say she felt ill the day before the task. Also half of them in there have been ill so I don't get why no one can accept she might actually have felt ill.

It's not about that for me. It's about having a sense of justice and fairness. If Gemma wins fair and square that is fine. I may not like her winning but I can't complain.

The fact that she was removed from a task that would have put her up for elimination, for no real justified reason, is not fair. I would feel the same way if it was any other housemate.

But there was a reason, they said she was ill. Nobody can say she wasn't, because we aren't in there.

Apparently Twitter and Facebook are having meltdowns because of the 'bias' so if BB are choosing to make her immune again deliberately then they are fuelling hate against her and using her for publicity and drama.

I think BB are desperate for her to stay in for viewing figures, dont think they necessarily want her to win. plus she is looking less & less likely to win now cos her betting odds hav gone right down, she is now rank outsider to win

My suspicion is BB producers are purposely fueling these rumors and gossip so that they will be talked about in tabloid and social media. They don't even try downplay most of them. The popular "Bachelor" franchise in the US operates very much the same to stay popular (social media presence = more viewers)

For example, Tabloids will always scandalize perfectly normal things to get readers. It's pretty obvious there is an illness/virus going around in the house and yet there is no scene that explains what it is. They haven't provided an upfront explanation, so tabloids are free to spin and scandalize.

I don't doubt for a minute that Gemma is getting special though so that she doesn't walk. I don't think the housemates necessarily mind. If it gets more viewers, it ultimately benefits them all... (in exposure).

She showed no effects of an illness...just a diary room shot of her saying she felt nauseous. Seems strange, but you are right, there is no way we can know if she was ill or not.

Let's suppose she was truly ill and therefore legitimately excused from the task. If so, she should also be excused from the task result. Only non-toxic housemates were allowed to nominate. Gemma was not a 'non-toxic' housemate as she ill and not playing. Gillian clearly said, that she would have picked her as toxic. As a result, Gemma should not have been treated as a non-toxic housemate and therefore should not have been able to nominate.

That wouldn't be her fault though, it's BB's. And they would know the controversy that would cause, so it begs the question: are they trying to turn the public against her on purpose?
