If you listen to the first Big Brother in 2000 his accent was slightly toned-down.

He was probably asked, or chose, then to do that. And now is his normal accent.

Marcus Bentley's voiceover is one of the best things about the show.

I don't have a problem with the dudes accent, it symbolizes Big Brother in a way.
