I think that John went in the house with a game plan, or at the very least, an idea of how he wanted to come across, which affected how he was in the beginning. I definitely felt like he had a guard up. But after he heard his boos the first time, I think he started letting his guard down and has gradually become much more natural and seems to care less about perception of him (he still has his moments when I think he says certain things for the benefit of the cameras, but don't they all). That's the impression I get from him anyway. And I much prefer the John I'm seeing now to the one that entered the house. Out of the remaining HM's he's probably my second favourite after Tiffany which I NEVER thought I'd say!
