Natasha Khan has shared her first new music as Bat for Lashes since 2012's The Haunted Man. New track "I Do," which you can hear below, follows Khan's debut album as Sexwitch last October. It's accompanied by a note reading, "Save the Date, 1st July 2016, Til death do us part," and a necklace inscribed, "The Bride."
Bat for Lashes has announced a new album. The Bride, Natasha Khan's follow-up to 2012's The Haunted Man and her Sexwitch album, is out July 1. She's also shared a new song, "In God's House."
The Bride was produced by Khan alongside collaborators like Dan Carey, Head, Simone Felice, and Ben Christophers. It was inspired by I Do, a short film written and directed by Khan that will debut at NYC's Tribeca Film Festival in April. Here's how a press release describes the album:
The Bride follows the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to the church for their wedding. The Bride flees the scene to take the honeymoon trip alone, resulting in a dark meditation on love, loss, grief, and celebration.
Khan will also perform The Bride at a series of shows in churches, ahead of the album's release. For those shows, attendees are encouraged to wear wedding/formal attire.
