Default Why do people on here support being in the EU?

I am kind of surprised that people can tolerate being bossed around by Brussels. Get out while you can!

Because the arguments for staying are too strong to persuade me otherwise

But we're all entitled to our opinions which is why there's a referendum

It's interesting that most of the voters who want out are those who remember the UK before it joined the EEC

I remember it well, and they weren't exactly good old days If we go far enough back we have Harold Wilson having to go cap in hand to the IMF for money, and they dictated the terms under which our country would do business.

We had people moaning about immigrants then too .... and the EU wasnt even dreamt of then. We were also paying off loans for WW2 from our special friend the USA .... no quarter is given when money is involved. Lets be clear on that. If we are out of the EU .... we will be reliant on others at some point. We always have been throughout our history

If you want us all alone and isolated to be attacked by big giants like Russia then go for it and vote to pull out of the EU.

I personally value having allies and knowing that they're obliged to protect us if we got attacked by bigger nations, and also it's nice to know that we can travel to their countries without having to all the extra bits to live over there.

True, I find it interesting because it's usually the older generations who want to retain the status quo and younger generations are more gung-ho and willing for change, (16 year olds being given the vote in Scotland to help swing a yes vote) like everything the EU has pros and cons, just surprised at the voting trend on here anyway it may not be representative though as TiBB is a law unto itself

Allies? You mean like how the EU came together over the Syrian refugee crisis, it was every country for themselves I wouldn't bank on any of the Eurozone helping each other out unless there is something in it for them

They did come together, they all said *except Germany) (NOBODY MENTION THE WAR!) they don't want any refugees.

For me, it is because simply that with all the faults of the EU and there are many, we know where we are and that we can more likely maintain status, success and stability with very little as to any economic or investment uncertainty over the next 2 years or so at least..

I haven't seen or heard anything that convinces me that 'will' be the case if out and the one thing that is certain is that there will be concerns and uncertainties as to investment and the economy if we vote to leave.

I am not prepared to risk that but each must make their own minds up but for me it is 'in'.

They came together months after the crisis started and only because Germany's ridiculous open door policy forced them to, how did Germany think the refuges were going to get to Germany, air drop? Germany as part of the EU had no right to issue an open borders policy when it affected all the countries around them without making provision for refugees to access Germany without having to trudge through other countries whose borders were closed.

We'll be in a weaker position if we leave and the deals we had in place will likely be better than anything we'll be able to negotiate if we leave since we'll be negotiating from a weak position. I'd rather keep the status quo then make things worse for a few years with a vague hope that things will get better.

Plus I value those human right laws that EU has in place and I don't want a Tory led government that's free from those laws.

Mum's are kizzy.
I've made my own mind up on the EU anyway but I too would take into account my Mum's view and in fact my Dad's too,who are both for in, although they voted out in 1975.

Im not happy with the rules the EU force upon us so I'm voting out but please explain how that is cutting off my nose to spite my face?

We are all entitled to make a decision and I've made my decision and I couldn't care what people think about my decision because I'm happy with it and will not change it for anybody as I'm a individual and I feel ill be better out of the EU so that's where my vote is going I don't care whether people like it or not as I'm not doing it to make anyone but myself happy.

Because the arguments for the in campaign sound more beneficial from my POV. It really is that simple.
