Since I was told my the doctors I need to drink more I'd say I get through about 1.5L.

Not enough anyway It's so boring on its own, I'd rather drink tea or squash or fizzy juice

I used to do that but was informed not to as it can be dangerous, something to do with the chemicals in the plastic, so I stopped.

Re-using the same plastic container can be dangerous, its true. There was quite a lot of attention on it a few years ago

I've heard that too, I tend to only use the same bottle for a day or two before I buy another one though...hopefully that's not too long

Just buy a BPA-free drinks bottle, that you can fill with water. I have this one that has an infuser that you can add fruit to, which does make water more exciting.

Bottled water is soo wasteful and hurts the environment! There are even reports that it's less safe than tap water. At least get yourself a reusable bottle that you can fill.

Well, this isn't entirely true...
Women need about 2 literally of water or beverage a day, and Men 3-3.5 L

Now, sure coffee is liquid, but caffeine is dehydrating as well, so extra water is needed for proper hydration

I drink at minimum, a 1.5 L of water, and then more depending on the day, my tea intake, my coffee intake etc...

Probably around 4 pints of water a day, varies as to how warm the day is.

A supplement for water?? How about water LT, unless you want to some Hydrogen and Oxygen pills

I remember watching this program once where this man was trying to say, as you have, any liquid can substitute for water to survive... But he was in his 50's and had the skin of a 90 year old.

Sure, you will live for awhile with less water then recommended, but there is a quality of health I like to maintain... Skin like mine you got to work for

Varies. I am supposed to drink at least two litres a day of water, but tend to put juice in it, struggling with it at the minute so drinking 2 litres a day of cheap diet coke instead.
Normally drink average 3 mugs of coffee a day as well, my doc is quite happy to count that as a fluid intake as well nowadays.
My kidney function gets checked on a very regular basis so well so it would show if I wasn't doing well.

If you drink too much you pee it out. If you drink too little you get thirsty and pee less. It's all exquisitely well-controlled in the same way that your intake of oxygen is well-controlled.

Saying that you should drink more water than your body asks for is like saying that you should consciously breathe more often than you feel like because if a little oxygen is good for you then more must be better.

Like most things in life there's a Goldilocks amount - not too little and not too much. With this in mind, next week I'll deal with the health benefits of porridge and how to avoid being eaten by bears.

I don't think most people know what their bodies are asking for when it comes to water.. Because they reach for substitutes like pop or food thinking they are hungry... Or an acetaminophen for a headache when it's really dehydration...

In a perfect world, you maybe rt LT, but I doubt it
