But is there a need to put (serious debate) in the title anymore?

The reason for keepimg it in is not everyone looks at the site forum by forum. Some people read the site by looking at today's posts and don't look or care which forum a subject is in. Keeping the marker in the thread shows what type of discussion is taking place. People will know what is expected and won't, I hope, make lots of one line posts in these topics.
It makes it easier for posters and for the moderators to see what is what on the site. Just because some topics have some kind of marker doesn't make them mor important than other topics. They are just a new part of the site and to encourage serious discussions which people wanted on the site. People that are not interested in such discussions can stay away if they are clearly marked. Sorry it upsets you but it does make sense if you think about it. |
