Default BB lacks humour these days

All the emphasis seems to be on "messing with their heads", "causing paranoia and stress" and so on. What happened to the funny side of BB?

(Siavash in his barrel costume in the diary room is a perfect example of what I mean.) laughing until tears roll down your face funny.

Today the producers just seem to want fights and sex; they have totally forgotten about fun. 90% of the contestants are young, attractive and looking to get on the minor celebrity bandwagon. Where is the healthy mix of age and personality type?

It seems the producers just want to appeal to the lowest common denominator and surprise surprise - are losing audience.

I am Losing The Will To Watch.

Hmm yeah, I loved it when they used to joke with the HM, like in BB6 when they made them wear those protective suits in DR and tried to scare them

Oh I dunno, CBB17 was probably the funniest series on C5.

But if your talking about civilian, I agree.

Remember stuff like Susie in the DR with Automated BB

Yes! Our only light relief is coming from Lateysha because the producers focus on the drama over lighter content

I reckon thats they main reason why Geordie Shore is far more popular than BB these days.

Couldn't agree more, I'm always saying I miss the days when they would sit around chatting about everyday things and have a laugh, play jokes on each other etc those were some of the best nights on lf too.

The producers are under the impression that viewers want to see constant drama 24/7 when it's just too much not just for us watching but for the hms too, last year you could actually see they were physically and mentally exhausted with the constant tension, of course some drama will always take place in the bb environment and that's perfectly fine and to be expected but the manufacturing of it is overkill and too much to watch at times.

aww man that is one of the funniest things I've seen on BB, Siavash in his barrel costume, I laughed for weeks after seeing that, even after the series had ended.

This

I rarely hear ex housemates saying BB was one of the best experiences of their lives anymore. You used to hear this all the time, but housemates really don't seem to be enjoying the experience as much now as they once did. It's always far too intense and dramatic in there these days

The format and the tasks and BB interaction with HMs used to be more funny

But funny housemates were always short in supply and subject to people's taste in humour....Marc O' Neill was only a year ago and he was my fave HM of all....and in his time Brian Dowling was really funny and that's 15 years ago....along the way I've also loved Rex, Josie, Niki Graham and Gina from 3 years ago....the girls all had a very dry sense of humour and the boys were both brilliant wind up merchants.

So far this year I've heard no one say anything funny yet....the humour is often more what people do rather than what they say....Marco jumping in the pool and Ryan throwing up is def a type of humour but sadly not mine.
