Jo O'Meara has admitted that she thinks Big Brother should never return for another series.

Speaking in an interview with Sky News, the former S Club 7 singer criticised the show's "cruel" nature and claimed once again that footage of her time in the house had been edited unfairly.

"I just think the whole thing has been so unfair and so cruel and that I've not been portrayed as the person I really am," she explained. "I can't even go out. I've been locked in a room for a week. I feel if this is what a TV show does to people then it shouldn't be a TV show."

O'Meara confessed that it was a huge shock to be accused of bullying Shilpa Shetty - as she has nothing but respect for her "graceful" nature and "got on fine" with the Bollywood actress.

"I don't know why people keep saying I never liked Shilpa, I just didn't bond with her as much as I did with other people, but we got on fine," Jo continued. "She's one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen and she's graceful and a true lady, but none of that ever seemed to get across in the right way or it was made to look like I was being horrible to her the whole time."

Commenting on her current state of mind, she said: "I have got to pick the pieces up or I will end up going mad - more mad than I am. I don't think you can get much lower. They say you have to hit rock bottom before you can build yourself up. I just hope I'm at the bottom now."

yeah, she's right - their editing made this such a problem. Channel 4 and endamol could have cut all the bad bits but instead they wanted to make it better viewing. so in a way it's ruined the lives of Jade , Danielle and Jo. But i would still like to see BB running...and hope that the girls get over this

Oh come on......... why should they edit it to show her in a GOOD light. She said it so take responsibility for your actions and stop blaming other people for your mistakes

I'd hate to see BB cancelled- but Jo does have every right to say this. Its ruined her life.

Edited out the arguments
Edited out the somewhat racist comments

Why ?

Because it makes some people feel all cosy and warm by pretending it didn't happen, as opposed to facing the harsh truth that the three of them were vindictive manipulating bullies and showed our country for what it is rapidly becoming, an ignorant lout filled hole

Exactly, why should millions of BB fans have to suffer just because she claims her life has been ruined by BB (which might i add is aload of tosh, she wasn't in a fit state to start with way before BB).

I`m still trying to figure out the purpose of this interview.The only new and significant part was calling for BB to be cancelled.
I`m told she wasn`t paid and I know she wasn`t there to clear the air ,so what was it all for,I don`t get it??.Was it a ploy by Sky to start the` finnish BB` campaign or what??

The "I was edited unfairly" argument doesn't really wash that well with me: if you don't say any comments that could be perceived as racist, then you cannot be portrayed as a racist!

Sky got in contact with her and wanted to hear her side , but Jo didn't accept the money and offered to do it for free

And besides, does she really think BB's going to be axed. People know, or should know anyway, full well what they're going into before they go in. So she's only wasting her breath!

I am sure she didnt want it to be axed when she was getting a hefty sum to appear on the show and just because she's come out of it looking bad she lays the blame on the way the shows edited but they cannot edit you to say things you have not said so get over it.
