We were having a debate about this in our welsh lesson.
What do you think? Personally I think it's harder to be a girlie. Because... 1. It's easier for boys to make friends, and it's hard for girls 2. Boys don't have periods (lucky them ![]() |

Pros and Cons for both....
Girls may think it is much easier on boys but they get alot of pressure on them too, they may put on a front and everything... but peer pressure - needing to look "big and hard" or being able to "get the most girls"... Depends in which context you look at it aswell... However, there is still alot of institutional sexism and just everyday sexism around, which makes it harder for females. Everyone should just be happy with who and what they are. |

I agree with soph I think it is a lot harder to be a girl than a boy for the 2 reasons sophie said and also boys dont have to look pretty and put make up on they can just go out as they want

Just because boys don't have to wear make up it does not mean they do not care about their appearance at all... Obviously you can only be what you are, so you will never understand what it is like to be male and you will only be able to relate with what you go through so therefore may perceive what you are to be most difficult. |

i bet if i started a poll along the lines of "would you rather be kicked in the face or kicked in the balls?" most replies would prefer a boot to the face.

I would say that whilst men don't have to go through periods and childbirth.. they still have hard stuff to deal with..
As previously mentioned, they aren't encouraged to show emotion the way girls are, and can feel pressure to act like the "big man". Also, I think the make-up issue actually favours girls.. We can put on slap to hide our spots and blemishes, but men can't do that, and when they are spotty teenagers, they probably wish they could! |

Oh, and as for the kick in the nads.. I did that to my husband back when we were first going out.. We had been watching a horror on the telly and I had to go to the toilet... so, he decided it would be a good idea to jump out on me at the bottom of the stairs.... It wasn't such a great idea when my basic instinct was to raise my knee rather swiftly.
He spent the next 10 minutes on the floor, whilst I tried really hard not to laugh .. I didn't mean it, but he kinda deserved it for scaring the chit out of me! ![]() |

Sophie, I can't really tell you much about the pain of childbirth.. I had two C-Sections. But, I did have 18 hours of labour first time around, and that was no picnic!

Yeah, I was terrified.. but it all happened kinda fast.. by the time they realised it was to be an Emergency Section they just kinda rushed me up to theatre, and did it.. It was all a bit surreal.. especially knowing they are operating on you whilst you are awake..
