i think so long as you drink in moderation .. dont go mad, the odd drink should'nt do any harm to the child.

When my cousin was pregnant, I made sure she didn't drink or smoke at all!! I knew that she has no limits so I took extra care of her and now she doesn't smoke anymore after pregnancy...so I feel quite proud.

My sister who's pregnant now is finding it so hard not to drink (becuase she's 17 and that's what people do that age)
But she's determined not to drink and I'm very proud of her!

Mothers who drink loads during their pregnancies are selfish

Wow, that's quite early to be getting pregnant isn't it?

I knew a girl who got pregnant in Year 8 and now her life is pretty shitty...abusive boyfriend, disowned by parents etc. I feel sorry for her.

I didn't drink during any of my pregnancies.. but I wasn't in the habit of drinking anyway, so it never really bothered me.

I smoked up til I was 7 months pregnant with my first kid, then I quit and ate chocolate for a whole week, then I got in trouble from the midwife cuz my blood sugar was up.. .. so I had to stop the munching as well!

People said it wasn't worth quitting at that stage in my pregnancy, but I think it was.. better late than not at all.. plus, after my C-Section, it hurt a lot to cough, so it was good that I wasn't smoking at all by that time.

They say smoking causes low birth weights. My daughter was 8lbs 10oz.

Sorry, I went slightly off-topic there Sue.. maybe we can include "smoking during pregnancy" in this though..

Foetal Alcohol Syndrome is the biggest cause of non-genetic mental handicap in the western world and the only one that is 100% preventable.

We as adults choose what we put into our bodies, we also make the choices about what our babies put into theirs! I think that to drink during pregnancy (in excess) is irresponsible and very dangerous for the baby.

Have a look at this site for more info about fetal alcohol syndrome

Yea he was 37 I know it's sick!
We could have reported him or taken him to court, but she's over the age of 16 so it's legall.

What makes it worse is that he's married with a son my age (15) and a son who's 19.

Once the baby comes, all you will think when you look at him/her is that he/she is beautiful and perfect, and that it's your niece/nephew.

I think people who do drink heavy during pregnancy are very selfish people. Drinking a glass every now and then I would think is fine but no all nighters.
