He doesn't look like a lazy man,I would think most of the inane chat of some of the others would be mind numbing,I think I'de rather clean the toilets than listen to some of them

Morons like Jackson and Ryan who claim Jason cooking all the time is just to gain favour..... Why don't they offer to cook?
Quite happy to eat his cooking....then slate him behind his back...COWARDS. |

exactly BB paranoia is rife and instead of thinking 'wait a minute is he just a nice guy' their minds went all paranoid... and suspect him of gameplaying when he is simply a nice guy

I usually like the quiet underdogs and the HM's who bring a lot to the atmosphere of the house. I also like a good trainwreck every once in a while. In general though, I just pick whoever I feel a vibe with. Lateysha isn't "quiet" persay, but I liked that near the beginning she could sometimes be a bit passive herself and show self-doubt in the DR. It was clear at various points that though she flourished in her role in the house, she was not necessarily 100% keen on what game she was actually playing. (i.e. she's pretty dense at times to her effect in the house) I think she got a major confidence boost and an image facelift with the public and that's worth more than a cash prize in my opinion imo. Jason's decision didn't exactly "contribute" to the atmosphere the way some think, but the house is 1000% more livelier (this forum too) now that it's been done. Every TV show needs it's villains and with Jason being target numero uno it's keeping Andy in (boooooo ), so it will keep the show interesting until the finale. I honestly expected mostly just more run of the mill evictions, stupid cash bombs and predictable eliminations until the finale week... thoroughly surprised. God forbid I ever were in that house, I'd clean with a vengeance because it's a matter of stubborn pride as well as creating comfort and wellness for wellness. I guess I'm a little like Emma's heightened sensitivity level to negative conversations. Of course, all things in balancet I can stand some "filth" and clutter, but there needs to be a purge of things regularly so that at least the mess is contained to places that would naturally be cluttered or "messy" at times. When you're stuck in an environment with 15-19 other people I imagine that urge to purge will be further exacerbated if you're a neat freak. Though really, how hard is it to at least clean the bedroom? At least vacuum? Even worse, millions of people watching the program and seeing you lying on bed next to used underwear and beverages... eww no I guess Jason from his tough man exterior and his 'cool as a cucumber' persona they play it as if it is actually quite beneath him to clean since rich people apparently don't clean. So they can mull over the question of whether he's there just "play the game". Really... it's just that Jackson can be quite the diva in his own way and he expects that the "nice straight man" spotlight constantly be on him. Without Georgina or other people to faux "submit" to, we're seeing more of his actual character. For example, he doesn't really bitch per say about the Ryan and Hughies of the house because on some level he thinks he's actually a better person than them. You hear him talking about himself a lot of times, about his "son" and how he is "the nicest guy you've ever met"... it's actually rude because if you listen to him, it sounds like he's saying "well I'm actually better than you, so of course you would think that, you don't see how awesome that makes me"... I read somewhere he may have/had an addiction. We have an addict in our family who is very similar to Jackson... he is socially immature and child-like response to things going on around him... he will give away tons of work, praise and contribution "for free", but will never let you forget it and then sometimes expects "payment" in the form of peer recognition and has no problem accepting "handouts" or large sums of money as well... it's quite infuriating when a grown man does it. Jackson seems to be shades of this person, or at least like a lower-level version of the that "living on the edge of materially impoverished, but the soul is forever rich for it" persona... it's all great on paper until you realize that for everything that person does, there's usually a price, whether you like it or not... you're bound to them and to some degree, responsible for their emotionally well-being and can never question their image... in their logic Jason doesn't do things to expect emotional or physical payment and because this is the way Jackson's world works he is suspicious. Tells you more about Jackson really than Jason... Last edited by Maru; 16-07-2016 at 06:58 PM. |

I hope people get behind Jason. He was a total gentleman with the situation with Charlie, never says anything nasty about anyone and doesn't deserve the way he's treated. His reason to evict Ryan re the way he talked about Alex having sex with Evelyn only shows further how decent the guy is. I really like him and Andy. Hate it when housemates all get together against a couple of members. Go Jase. Go Andy!

[QUOTE=Maru;8824675]"It's so funny how that type of mentality is treated between genders. For me it's a matter of self-pride. I come from a southern US family with strong personalities (especially the 'matriarch' side) . My grandmother had 7 siblings and 4 are female so historically large families. We are mostly nurturing types and very much enjoy the cooking, cleaning and preparation aspect of making a social and inviting home. It's also to some extent an extension of southern hospitality. I'm a bit an obsessive organizer as well and need an organized space. I'm going nuts right now that I moved into my house over a year and still yet don't have places to store all my misc things... I notice it every time I enter my office."
I recognise so much of what you depict here. Over the years, a lot of people whose impromptu visits to our home have coincided with us eating a meal, or even some who have been invited to dinner, express surprise that we all eat as a family seated at the dining table, and that we serve the meal in individual tureens with gravy boats etc, for diners to take their own food from. By return, I have not only been surprised by their revelation that a lot of families do not eat together, but also that some of them do not EVER eat home cooked meals. "God forbid I ever were in that house, I'd clean with a vengeance because it's a matter of stubborn pride as well as creating comfort and wellness for wellness. So they can mull over the question of whether he's there just "play the game". " Like you, I love my home to be clean and tidy, and derive huge satisfaction from actually doing the cleaning, but - again like you - I am no obsessive, and would tolerate some untidiness and a little 'dirt' if I was living in the BB House with so many other people. As with Jason - and your good self - I would find myself cooking and cleaning without really thinking about it, but unfortunately for those others, I would be far less accepting than poor Jason of any cynical backstabbing that I was doing so as 'part of a game plan' to win - especially when those same backstabbers are happily content to stuff their faces with the food I've cooked for them. "Really... it's just that Jackson can be quite the diva in his own way and he expects that the "nice straight man" spotlight constantly be on him. I agree with your insightful summary of Jackson, which is validated because of your direct personal experience with an addict - not something which too many people will be familiar with. Although I cannot guarantee that I will always agree with your views Maru, I can tell you that I do genuinely look forward to you posting and love reading what you have to say. Keep them coming.
