I have noticed a lot of posts recently about housemates using other housemates for 'air time'. I would take this as a housemate who has had no story or much else that would feature heavily in highlights show would craftily link up with one who HAS had lots of airtime in order to make themselves seem relevant or big up their character.
In my opinion the prime character that would have to do this is Alex. For weeks he just sat there looking pretty, we hardly even heard his voice, he wasnt involved in any of the rows except trying to pull a housemate away, he wasnt making eyes at any of the women. He was just THERE. Sam to a degree was the same but he started coming out of his shell recently although none of them deserve to win. Several posters have said that Evelyn is using Alex for AIRTIME. Well in the show I have been watching Evelyn has been very much involved in just about everything since she came out of her shell the end of week two. She has stood up to Jackson calling him out for the fool that he is, stood up to her friend Laura about the hitting the buzzer for the second time to bring her so called boyfriend or whatever into the house, comforted several housemates, tried to calm Sam down after one of the huge rows, been so funny when trying to flirt with Alex specially the pouting and has really given her all in the tasks. Alex has just sat around or lay in bed next to Evelyn like a cold fish then put his arms around her on the sofa and pulled her into his bed on other occasions. ALEX needs the airtime as he has done SOD ALL IN THERE. Love her or dislike her for whatever reasons you might have, surely nobody can truly believe that she needs Alex for airtime |

dont understand why bb cast people like alex who is super quiet, reserved, and have no opinions on things. i always thought casting process is quite thorough.

Main culprit of "Camera time robbery " is Hughie ,he will do ANYTHING for it, from shouting in someones face to falling in the pool and the cameras oblige him

They both want the airtime now however Evelyn seems much more desperate.Alex is just kind of giving in to her pressure.

But why would she want it when she has had buckets of it. Alex needs it more I dont see Evelyn as desperate, she spends plenty of time with the rest of the housemates also as does Alex spend time with his friends. I dont see her following him around or running over to him for cuddles or even jumping into bed with him either. From what I can make out its he went into bed with her first he lay at the end of it then crawled up

I see where the thread is coming from but I, for one, have more respect for Alex than Evelyn because he has been consistent since the start, even though a bit dull....she has gone from little mouse to gobby housemate and that for me is a bit like Jackson, it smacks of not being real.
She has shown strength of character at times but not often enough and not consistent enough...one time we see her taking chunks out of Jackson then another time she's behaving all coy and helpless around Alex. I don't know which version, if any, is real |

I agree. He tries too hard to be 'funny' and is too forceful, but then STILL fails.
He is about as funny as toothache when the dentists are closed.

Evelyn's not the most exciting Housemate ever (no offense Rionablue) but Alex is definitely using her for airtime as he doesn't even seem to have a personality.
Like Ryan used Hughie for airtime, and Jason used Charlie for sympathy, Alex is definitely using Evelyn as his invisible without her.

But you're making out like Hughie is some Charley Uchea/Helen Wood type of Housemate though when he has had fun in the house, just not with the Housemates that you necessarily like or pay attention too is all.
