Default Why did Jade behave as she did?

Most people here probably agree that Jade didn't beahve well, especially during "the argument" when she got /very/ angry. I was just wondering why everyone here thought she was like that?

Because she's a jealous pig. She didn't like Shilpa because she was JEALOUS.

Because she thought the majority of people watching would be just like her.

She thought the majority of people watching would find bullying an acceptable way to get ahead, because the bully never see's it as bullying - and she was banking on the people watching thinking it was funny

Because she thought the majority of people would excuse her anything "cos she was just having a larf because thats what "real people" do

Because she's a big mouth and because her celebrity status has given her an ego.

She wouldn't have spken to say Halle Berry in that manner. She'd have chilled out if she knew how famous Shilpa was.

I think she would've reacted in exactly the same way no matter who it may have been that looked down their nose at her and addressed her in that patronising, arrogant, hoity-toity manner. And Shilpa isn't (or rather wasn't, until that day) famous anywhere outside of India (other than to British citizens of Asian ethnic origin - 3.5% of the population / 2.1m). More to the point, would Halle Berry have been desperate enough to engineer an argument over a few stock cubes?

I do not agree. The point I am trying to make with this is that, in my opinion, Jade Goody thought she was one of the most famous people in that house. Shilpa Shetty is more famous but in a niche market. Thus, Jade had never heard of her. If Jade had been confronted by say Cameron Dias or Halle Berry or Julia Robert i.e. Some one who she knew was more famous than she was, I do not think Jade would have kicked off over Oxo cube.

I do think that Jade is very much a loose cannon and no on can predict how she’d act but, any one of the actresses I named would have more fans watching than Jade and thus her attitude would have been different. I note that she never raised her voice to Jermaine. She had a small spat with Dirk but I would go as far as to say that she kissed Jermaines ass.

Actually, she was the most famous person in the house. When she was trying to explain to the American hm's who she was, she just trotted out a soundbite from a few press clippings that her agent no doubt gave her to make her more malleable for the next profit making scheme on the horizon. In all of that, her response was quite artless. The show was screened in the UK. Even if you counted the entire UK population that belongs to an ethnic minority with Indian, Pakistani or Bangladeshi origins, it would still be dwarfed by the audience figures for BB3. Shilpa is (or rather was) pretty much only famous in India, and again this was a UK show. So from no viable viewpoint was Shilpa more famous than Jade. And correction - it was Shilpa who 'kicked off over an Oxo cube', rather than Jade.

That's quite definitely true. She won't let anyone talk down to her, just because she's working class. She may not have the vocabulary to get her point across as eloquently as some, but credit to her for not being anyone's doormat. She didn't have any argument with Jermaine because he never had the nerve to say any of the garbage he was constantly spouting about her in the bedroom to her face. It's not her fault that Jermaine is a coward, after all.

No it wasnt, it was Jade.

Shilpa went to enquire about the whereabouts of the missing oxo cubes, and after finding out the greedy selfish children had wasted them all on themselves, Shilpa should have told them all off, but she didnt, she tried to contain her justified annoyance until the disrepectful tramp started mouthing off like she is always so desperate to do.

She is now, but she wasn't the night that Jade first walked into the house. This is a UK tv show we're talking about. Her popularity in India, and to ethnic minorities elsewhere, is meaningless in the context of the show because it was only screened in the UK. When people tuned into BB this year, virtually all of them knew who Jade was. But only a tiny fraction had any idea who Shilpa was. That's a basic fact, and it really shouldn't need continual, lengthy explanation.

In a world of green skies and blue grass, perhaps.

No, Shilpa started whining because her fellow housemates had dared to consume food which they all had equal rights to. Shilpa's response was puerile, petty and childish. She started the argument, and it was clearly her intent to have an argument about pretty much anything from the moment she walked into the room.

My, aren't you the charmer? I don't need to justify the blatantly obvious, nor pretend anything. The answer to your commennt is right there in the segment of my post which you've quoted. It's a UK show. Ergo, it's not being watched in India (save for a tiny number who may have access to satellite tv, perhaps). Is there anything else you'd like to twist from fact to fiction?

It seems you like an argument. Well, fasten your seatbelt, kiss yourself a St. Christopher and pluck yourself a four-leaved clover. But you'll need something a little more substantial than feeble insults. Otherwise, you may as well get your coat right now.

Veiled platitudes. How sweet. That's cool. We all have our limits.

LOL! It's she who holds the strings, dear. I'm here to debate with (hopefully) intelligent people, not to play Xbox doubles.

I'm not disputing the accuracy of your comments as to how famous she may have been when she entered the house. That doesn't change the fact that it was a UK show, and in the UK, she was essentially a nobody to the vast majority of the audience. Dirk was also famous worlwide, too. That didn't mean that most of the audience weren't too young to recognise him, either.

I was talking fame worldwide rather than UK fame...you're right about shilpa not being as famous as jade in the UK pre BB....anyhow.....now shilpa is a somebody and jade is a nobody in the UK

If youre on about catching lions then youre out of context. You cant blame the lions for ignoring antagonistic scorpions.

If youre not on about lions, forget I mentioned it.
