Default Do they still get the Talk of Doom?

I know they used to have a 'Talk of Doom' before they got put in the house which would tell them their lives could be ruined forever and that they wouldn't be the next Jade Goody/Brian Dowling and that Big Brother won't lead to fame and fortune but I can't help but feel they don't have it anymore?

A lot of the housemates seem to come out expecting everything housemates got 10 and more years ago. Ryan seems to think he's getting a reality TV show, Lateysha expected to get a lot of money for her and her daughter, presumably Jackson thought he was going to become rich and famous by saying Big Brother had changed his life forever and going on about his poor background etc. Not to mention people like Laura and Jason who have careers in the limelight going on to possibly enhance them?

So either they don't actually listen to the Talk of Doom or they aren't actually given it anymore to keep them more deluded and therefore more entertaining idk?

Tbf it's not unlikely for them to get something if they've got the right personality these days in the ever increasing world of reality TV.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a place at channel 5 news for Andy before too long.

Well i guess they do become "Z" listers for a while...but you don't make money like you used to. The mags don't go for them like they used to.

Matthew from BB15 tweeted about being given the talk a few weeks ago so I'd assume that they're still given it.

I think that as so few people watch BB these days, it wouldn't really be life ruining any more. Even those who didn't become Jades or Brians back in the day probably got recognised anywhere they went, and probably couldn't get "normal" jobs for a while because of the baggage, but I guess these days they could?

I suspect they probably still do it - to cover themselves in case anyone tries to sue them

(Saying that some of the housemates seem to be doing well for themselves post-show, lots of New etc shoots and radio slots and stuff which other housemates in recent years haven't got)

They probably give certain warnings for legal reasons, but the HMs probably gloss over it, a bit like we all do when we sign 'terms and agreements' on a new gadget or software, we ignore the small print just so we can crack on. And i bet they do too.

Most the housemates this year would qualify for CBB anyway so they're bound to get slightly more media attention post-show than housemates from previous years.

You have people like Lateysha, Georgina, Alex and Sam who are out with people like Vicky Pattison, Charlotte Crosby, EOTB and LI stars (who are pretty much tabloid figures now) and they're in the tabloids as a result of it.
