Default 5 years of Big Brother on Channel 5 - has it changed for better or for worse?

Simple question really - in the 5 years that Big Brother's been on Channel 5, would you say that it's changed in a good or bad way?

Depends, do you mean compared to c4 BB, or first c5 BB to now c5 BB?

Editing has improved but twists are just as bad if not worse.

Although Crypt in BB12 remains firmly at the bottom

For worse in my opinion but I am still glad it is on and will always watch it.
Although I look at it differently than a BB series now,I see it as a more like a soap with voting involved at times.

Worse than C4 (although the last few years on C4 were really stagnant) although a lot better than the beginning of C5. Editing is better and the show feels less tacky.

It's better than how it was in 2011. But C4BB is far superior, even the latter years. There's only been about 5 series I've thoroughly enjoyed on C5 but even then I don't think they were worth it for everything else we've had to endure since the move to 5

They also seem to try and make it feel like Big Brother now. In 2011/2012 it seemed like they didn't see it as Big Brother but saw it as their channel's TOWIE/Geordie Shore.

C4 BB is far superior but C5 CBB is better imho, also if we're talking 2011 then YES. CBB8 and BB12 are tragic but we've had gems like CBB9/10/13/15/16 and BB13/14/17.

CBB9, BB13, BB14, CBB13, CBB16, CBB17 and BB17 have been really good series' of the show but yes they're really inconsistent. I know it's all really dependent on the cast but they've literally gone from one of the best Big Brothers ever to one of the worst Celebrity Big Brothers ever over this summer.

Yeah, it's crazy to think that in 2011 we got CBB8 and BB12 and then the next year they gave us CBB9, BB13 and CBB10, which were all great series, and then right after that we get CBB11 .

Yeah 2011 was one of the worst years for Big Brother ever and then 2012 came along and become one of the best years ever

It's funny how the best year of C5 BB (2012) is the year where it was still tacky and gaudy.

I'd say if I had to rank the C5 years it'd be;

2012 > 2013 > 2016 > 2015 > 2014 > 2011

Idk every year bar 2012 has always had one (or two) really awful series let it down.

2011 was crap overall. 2013 had CBB11, 2014 had BB15, 2015 had BB16, and the CBB's this year have been dire.

2012>2016>2013>2015>2014>2011 (although I haven't seen all of CBB8 or BB12).

2016 is so high for me because BB17 is my second best civilian series on Channel 5 and the civilian being good is more important than anything. I don't at all mind that CBB18 has been crap because it's completely irrelevant to BBUK and is only made to boost viewing figures by a few hundred thousand for a few weeks. It's a whole different story if January CBB is bad (and I personally thought CBB17 was good) since the whole BBUK franchise depends on January CBB to continue.

I understand that C4 were running out of steam and the figures were dwindling but the revamp hasn't really saved those figures. Overall, the format has suffered but there have been great housemates.

House: about the same
Presenter (Emma): about the same
Spin-off show: a hell of a lot worse
Spin-off show presenter: worse
Twists: worse
Housemates: much more generic than on C4 so unfortunately worse on the whole
Production/coverage/consideration of the fans: a hell of a lot worse.

So yeah idk why I didn't vote worse really. 13 and 17 were both great but even then through no added input from channel 5/producers.

Part of me wants to put 2015 after 2012 for its CBB's but BB16 is so bottom of the barrel I can't.

2012 > 2013 > 2015 > 2016 > 2014 > 2011

2016 has only been good for civilian.

I didn't mind CBB15 and I'd definitely take it and its draining second half over both the CBB's we got this year.

Plus the first week was amazing and CBB16 <3

Personally I thought CBB17 was better as it focused on a wider range of housemates (Tiffany, Gemma, Angie, Megan, Stephanie, Jeremy and Danniella) than CBB15 which just focused on Hopkins and Perez.
