Default Notting Hill "carnival" at it again..

Family day was yesterday

Boy of 6 stabbed police arrest 105 for carrying drugs and knives (24 for carrying a knife) and 71 revellers are taken to hospital. Gardens used as toilets and residents in terror and many police hours wasted - it also costs millions

Do you think it is time to end this shameful "carnival"?

Default Notting Hill Carnival: Man In Critical Condition After One Of Four Stabbings

[Ambulance crews treat 345 people,
taking 43 to hospital,
on the popular event's day
for children and families.
Four people have been stabbed
at Notting Hill Carnival,
with one man fighting for
his life in hospital.
Emergency services were
called to Wornington Road
in Kensington and Chelsea
at 4.25pm on Sunday,
the day the festival is dedicated
to children and families.
A second man was arrested on
suspicion of causing
grievous bodily harm.]

They should stop it
or move it to Hyde Park
in my view

It is a shame that the day was marred by a criminal element, but there is a criminal element that's a given, how could it be allowed for those to ruin future events?
Social unrest at times of national instability is not uncommon either.

I don't think it should end any more than Glastonbury/Reading should end because someone seems to die every year through drug abuse. The organisers aren't accountable for idiots being idiots, and the majority of goers shouldn't have to suffer the actions of a handful.

Why on earth does this carnival attract criminals in such a way? I have honestly never heard of this but I assume the same thing happens every year with arrests and injuries?

It's such a shame things like this happen because it really is a great day out and the atmosphere is amazing. I think ending carnival would just punish the people who work very hard to organise it and those who attend with good intentions.

So the actions of a handful should spell the end for the enjoyment of 1000s?

The stabbings were carried out by 14 to 19 year olds

I would say it was one of the reasons they moved to the area for this annual event as opposed to the many other London boroughs.

...sadly, idiots will always be inevitable in any large gathering, thankfully no life threatening injuries though..and really quite a remarkably low percentage of aggression/violence with over 1 million people estimated to have attended...the vibe of the carnival must be amazing.....
