t may all be pie in the sky, but Channel 4 are hoping Clare Balding and Davina McCall could be the dream team to replace Mel and Sue on Bake Off. As Channel 4 bosses insisted they had not blown their budget on the £75million deal, Clare, 45, emerged as bookies favourite on odds of 8/1. And Davina, 48, is already a golden girl at Channel 4 after working on some of its biggest hits and so is at the top of bosses’ wish list. Strictly presenter Claudia Winkleman, 44, is also in the frame, but it is thought unlikely she leave the BBC.

I think either would be fitting. I love Mel and Sue but honestly sometimes they do grate...the jokes and innuendo can be very hit and miss (especially from Sue)

I am not bothered who gets it, as once it switches channels to C4, I won't be watching it any more. Saying it will stay the same formula is ridiculous if we are supposed to believe that, what's the betting it will have only youngish, and TOWIE and Geordie Shore type bakers, and probably doing beans on toast as a technical or signature dish

Probably just a Daily Mirror clickbait article, with no substance to it.
