Default Saara Aalto has made X Factor history

Quote:
Saara Aalto has made X Factor history and she's very excited about it.

The Finnish singer was in the bottom two in the very first week but has now made it to the semi-final.

That's X Factor's most successful comeback ever, according to the people (?!) who keep track of these things.

"I think it proves everything is possible," Saara told the Daily Express of her title of X Factor's comeback Queen. "That’s my motto. I believe everything is possible and you can turn everything around.

"This proves that anything can happen, miracles can happen. I’m so happy and grateful for everyone who has supported me and helped me get this far.”

But can Saara go one step further and WIN the competition?

Historically, X Factor acts that have featured in the bottom two almost never win: James Arthur is the only one of the 12 champs to date to have ever been in a sing off.

But outside the UK, Samantha Jade won the Australian X Factor in 2012 after appearing in the bottom two three times just like Saara, proving it is possible.

As unlikely as it may have seemed a few weeks ago, bookies are preparing for what could be a big payout for punters who backed Saara early.

Aoife Heffron from bookies BoyleSports commented: “Saara has been the 66/1 outsider and the favourite for numerous eliminations, but now she is the 9/4 second favourite to win X Factor 2016.

"We have been inundated with bets for Saara to win and her odds have been slashed from 8/1 to 4/1 to 11/4 and finally to her current 9/4 as punters continue to get behind the Finish singer over the weekend.”

She added: “Matt Terry has been eased to 4/6 from 1/2 just ahead of the semi-finals as a result of many punters turning their backs on him. Despite remaining the red hot favourite to win, Saara could catch up to Matt should the support for her continue.”

The X Factor 2016 continues this Saturday and Sunday night with the live semi-finals.
