16 and Pregnant star Valerie Fairman has tragically died at the age of 23.

Fairman - who appeared on MTV's Teen Mom forerunner 16 and Pregnant in 2010 - was found dead in Chester County, PA on Wednesday (December 21), the local coroner's office told the press.

Her cause of death is currently under investigation from Caln Township police. She leaves behind a 7-year-old daughter called Nevaeh.

When her death was announced on Thursday (December 22), MTV said in a statement that all of those at the network were "saddened by the news of Valerie Fairman's passing".

"Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time," an MTV spokesperson added.

Viewers first met Valerie when she was 15 years old, and expecting a baby with her former boyfriend Matt in a 16 and Pregnant episodethat originally aired in March 2010.
