I don't need a safe space from a newspaper, I don't fear it.

To be fair there are right leaning papers which can engage in quality journalism (i.e. The Telegraph & The Times) that wouldn't need banning

I think it's more about the trash that tabloids publish being unfit for serious debates, I'd be quite happy for a ban on all tabloid articles (which would include The Mirror) so that only broadsheets were permitted

Most of the time the articles are in the broadsheets but the DM do better images and larger fuller articles so it really is a moot point. Plus Arista and me (for example) know that a DM link will irritate Kizzy et all so thats where we go there for the gold

We don't need a fuller article with extra detail on where Theresa May had her hair blow dried.

Better images? It's Serious ****ing Debates, not BuzzFeed. It's for discussing the dismantling of the NHS, not which female celeb looks the fattest in a bikini

The Mail Online is the most popular newspaper website on planet earth (a scary stat) because it's inflammatory, shouty, celebrity-obsessed, gutter journalism diluted with massive pictures so people don't have to pay attention - that appeals to the lowest common denominator. It and similar tabloids should have no place in a serious debate. But this is TiBB, so...

well if you would peel yourself away from the celeb section and just look at the news section it may improve for you

Remove the 'celebrity-obsessed' phrase from my description, and I think you'll find the post is still relevant to the rest of the site...
