The first celebrity performers revealed to be stepping up to the mic and busting some moves for Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief are today confirmed as:

- Astrologer Russell Grant performing the 1980’s iconic disco hit Chain Reaction by superstar diva Diana Ross.

- Actress Sally Lindsay will be Noddy Holder singing the rock classic Cum On Feel The Noize by the legendary Slade.

- Stand-up comedian and actress Sara Pascoe will take on a pop routine from one of the most viewed YouTube videos ever receiving over a billion views, the sensational chart-topping hit Chandelier by Sia.

- Stars of Casualty and Holby City made up of Chizzy Akudolu, Tony Marshall and Amanda Henderson will do a special rendition of the huge hit phenomenon Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars.

- And there will be a spectacular supergroup performance from The One Show reporters featuring Angellica Bell, Iwan Thomas, Alex Riley, Michelle Ackerley and Dominic Littlewood. Details of their performance will be revealed soon.

Let’s Dance for Comic Relief is back for Red Nose Day 2017, now bigger and better than ever before as it has been supersized into Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief. BBC One and BBC Entertainment present more celebrities donning more fantastic outfits and learning more iconic dance routines for Comic Relief, but this time the brave celebrities will be facing double the challenge – dancing and singing!

The celebrities will take to the stage to perform in front of a star-studded panel of judges. A different panel of guest stars and comedy royalty will join each week including Jo Brand, Jason Manford, Paul O’Grady, Frank Skinner, Jennifer Saunders and Claudia Winkleman.

The celebrity performers will face three live heats before a live grand finale. A combination of the viewers at home and the judging panel will decide who makes it through to the final, with the audience crowning the eventual winner, all in aid of Comic Relief.

Looking forward to their performances; Russell Grant said: “This is the best birthday present to be taking part in Let’s Sing and Dance for this great charity. I was 66 last week and to be asked to do my bit in such a spectacular way is amazing. I’ve played Edna in Hairspray and Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit and now Chain Reaction – think Russell as Divine with a tribute to Diana Ross: its Viva la Diva!”

Sally Lindsay says: "I'm thrilled to be performing on Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief and can't stop laughing when I think about it! I hope Noddy will still speak to me after!”

Sara Pascoe says: "The show-off in me is so, so excited. The sensible person in me believes I have made a terrible mistake!"

Harriet Thorpe and Helen Lederer are known as the Absolutely Fabulous’ eccentric duo Fleur and Catriona. Harriet says: “Fleur says singing and dancing are her 'words de jour' and she is looking forward to exposing her hidden talents #CantWait #OnTheStartingBlock #Abba-SolutelyFabulous.” Helen added: “Beyond delighted that Catriona and Fleur have been invited to give their bodies and voice for Comic Relief, and in such talented company. Very humbled and excited to be standing by for some lovely costumes and free Abba tips.”

Chizzy Akudolu from Holby City said: “Been watching Comic Relief since I was a teen, so being able to actually perform in the show is beyond mind boggling. I'm honoured and hope I sing in tune. If not, oh well, at least the audience will be laughing!!”

Tony Marshall from Casualty said: “We are in it to win it - let's funk it up! It's for great cause so bring on the applause!”

Amanda Henderson from Casualty said: “I am so excited about being part of this and hoping to raise lots of money for this wonderful charity. It's way out of my comfort zone and the nerves are already here and but here's to a lot of good laughs (probably at our expense!) Let's put the FUN in FUNK!!!”

The all new Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief will be hosted by Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins marking their return to BBC One. They will bring their own formidable and comic double act to the show with access all areas to the celebrities backstage. As well the performances in the studio, the show will even hit the streets of Britain to enlist the great British public in some of the biggest dance-offs ever. And with some surprise special guests in store, Saturday nights will be jam-packed of performances from some of the nation’s favourite faces.

Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief is a four-part series and will start next month on Saturday nights on BBC One. More celebrities and judges taking part will be announced in due course.
