The people who make my blood boil are the ones who knowingly participate in the destruction of their country. Donald Trump does not deserve one hundredth of the anger and hatred the leaders of Europe deserve for what they did to their countries. Sweden is the rape capital of the western world. It's a tragedy that such a beautiful country could be transformed so quickly.

If Trump was accurate in his rant - nobody would have reacted, it would have just been another angry rant. Easy to ignore. But he wasnt accurate, he was spouting out ****, inaccurate and irresponsible lies to millions. Why his fanboys are okay with this is beyond me, but thats no the point im trying to make.
He runs a country, he has a job, his job isnt to make up stats and lies to anyone that will listen. If he does do this, the right and the left should condemn his words. Because somehow, he has become a man of power and the words he says, and the lies he tells will have a reactionsry effect especially if his fanboys continue to blindly follow him into his weird dystopian world.

I think that is probably true but then i would be inclined to be blaming the previous leaderships who made the people feel so let down that they voted for change.Any change.

Yes Sweden reacted, you and I are reacting, millions of other people are reacting because the president of America just stood on stage and either deliberately lied, accidentally misspoke, or carelessly misheard huge information.

This isnt topical. It isnt new news. You were doing this yesterday too about Labour in 1997, asking why people care more about Trump 2017. I dont really know why it confuses you. People dont wait for months or years to gather an opinion.
Obviously sex crimes anywhere ever are horrific. I just read through a 'transgender rights in prison' and 'ukip letting those with violent pasts run' threads where the posts inside would both suggest that the "left" care a hell of a lot more than the "right" about sex crimes in general.
You cant take an outdated news story and assume that those who dont reply never cared - they probably did when the news story was fresh, they probably could write for days about their feelings, but this thread didnt exist half a year ago, and a thread asking people to recollect their thoughts on old news story are unlikely to ever be popular.

I think I'm looking forward to Merkel's election the most. I had a couple of German friends staying last week... they are very worried about the rise of the Hard Right and set the blame for it squarely at Frau Merkel's feet.

I don't think it's Trump supporters. I am not a Trump supporter... and frankly I'm sick of hearing it. My fella is looking at moving to the UK when we get married because he doesn't want to live in a country with Trump as president, and neither do I. That's how much of a Trump supporter I am. The man's terrifying. But that doesn't mean to say that what's happening in Europe is being "made up". To deny there is a problem is just as dangerous as the problem itself. It's the continual denial that's led to a backlash.

Everywhere I look its only Trump supporters claiming that by 'What happened in Sweden yesterday' Trump probs meant 'what happened in Sweden several months ago and definitely wasnt covered on Fox news yesterday'
It would be insane to jump to that conclusion.. unless youre a Trump fan.. then it kinda makes sense that you would think that..
