On VAT.
She failed to really guarantee No and Income tax would not.
Recall the Cons promised no tax rises for 5 years from 2015.

So promises she makes now may not be worth anything at all either,so possibly meaningless from her as much as a lot of what she says anyway.

I'm sorry to say this but we need tax increase if our economy is going to survive into and beyond Brexit. VAT though, is the Tory tax that hurts the poorest whilst benefiting the golden few.

Theresa May is either clueless about how tax works or she's complicit to the further inequality and divide ahead... I suspect the later.

To be fair, it was David Cameron's promise.
New prime minister, new election, new votes to see if she gets in on it...or not.

Oh come on,she was the serving Home Secretary when that promise was made.
She canvassed for votes in that election with that promise for 5 years.

She repeatedly said herself no election until 2020 when she became PM.
She has not been defeated in Parliament on anything.

She called this election, and appears to be likely using it to break promises made only 2 years ago.
She simply,in my own opinion, cannot be trusted as to her word or in most of what she may or not do.

The voters will get a chance to decide.
At least now she can have her own mandate, then we can see if we like it or not.

The voters are all over the place with every other party claiming a vote for them is the best way to beat the Cons.
I've already seen her govt in action and already don't like it.

Too late for those who spread out their votes to moan when she is sitting there for now another 5 years rather than only 3.
Hammering the sick and disabled more, she will raise some taxes I feel sure but not for her privileged friends,
She'll be likely forced to go for the hardest of brexit with a probable more brexit intake of Con MPs, she'll bring back barbaric things like foxhunting and I despair for the NHS under her and Hunt.

Some choice for voters and a result that will leave her with a strong majority to be more extreme and heartless policies, and fragmented Parties making up any opposition.

Opportunist she is certainly.
Trustworthy however, not in the slightest as to both her word and deeds.

Given the chance and the time she'll be another Thatcher............and nobody wants another one of those (at least nobody was around for the first one anyway).

We need to get rid while we've got the chance. The Tories always have been and always will be an Elitist, self-serving bunch of chinless wonders!

All governments makes promises they cant keep, the world changes on a daily basis and governments are trying to keep a lot a of balls in the air at once.

Lots of you come here with my dads better than your dad when talking about who you support and what they can do!.

Labour and conservative have had time running this country and both have been voted out of office.

Exactly. For labour voters to be all riled up accusing May of breaking promises, as if labour have never done so, is laughable. Convenient short memories.

No one is impressed when promises are reneged on, but ALL parties have done this.

Does that make it ok then? If we are going to forever more carry on believing lies without recourse then what is the point of policies or manifestos if they can effectively make things up as they go along and it's of because other parties have done previously?...

Where is the accountability... the integrity.. we cannot trust this govt to do anything but cut services to the bone, sell off valuable assets and drag us further and further towards war.

There is no accountability full stop!
Tony Blair sent men to die on a lie in the gulf war.

Educated and wealthy people with the power to save poor uneducated people let them suffer and die every day of the week.
Its a human cull

Tony Blair, the creep who recently announced his return to politics. It should not be allowed. He has proven himself a cold hearted liar and unfit to be in politics.

Now that's one thing we agree on. Blair is the neoliberal monster that got Thatchers train ride back on track.

The thing about Blair is, his politics are no different to the Conservatives. There is no doubt that the Conservatives greatly admire Blair. Cameron famously described himself as "the heir to Blair" and senior Tories still refer to him as the "Master."

He's one of them. He was always been one of them. To support the Tories is to support Blair and he knows this.
