Default Labour plan to allow thousands of unskilled workers move to the UK

Quote:
Theresa May has claimed Labour wants to introduce a system of “uncontrolled migration” after the party’s secret plan to allow thousands of unskilled workers to enter the UK after Brexit was leaked.

The Prime Minister today promised to deliver “proper control of our immigration” and to introduce restrictions on people coming to Britain from the European Union.

It comes after a document was leaked to The Telegraph which showed Labour is considering bringing back a scrapped visa scheme that allows unskilled migrants to move to the UK despite concerns that they stop British workers from winning seasonal jobs on farms and in factories.

Labour’s policy paper sets out plans for a green card scheme and admits the party does not consider cutting net migration a priority.

The party’s position is likely to be of great concern to its MP candidates in the north of England where control of immigration was a key concern during the EU referendum campaign.

Mrs May said on Wednesday that there is a “very clear choice” on the issue of immigration on June 8.

She said: "What we need to do is have proper control of our immigration and, of course, we are going to be able to put in rules for people coming from the EU to the UK once we leave the European Union.

"There's a very clear choice at this election, there's a very clear difference between myself and Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party.

"I want to ensure we are controlling migration because too high uncontrolled migration puts pressure on our public services but it also lowers wages at the lower end of the income scale.

It's a merely thought memo,it is NOT Labour party policy,it is NOT in the Labour Manifesto.
So it is has no basis at all,it is just what someone connected to Labour may think.
It is not,I repeat not, Labour policy at all.

It has no more merit than what any individual in any Party may think on any given issue.

It was discussed at length on the Daily Politics today by Andrew Neill.

I agree and the ridiculous thing is, why doesn't she try concentrating on her own policies instead of constantly trying to slur Labour?

She doesn't want to discuss her policies in any detail, clearly a lot of unsavoury stuff must be part of said policies.

Only for those with an over-active imagination and/or an agenda.

Loads of room - for how long I wonder.

We have enough of our own non-contributors why would we want everyone else's. Strange logic.

This exactly. Some 'foreigners' do more and contribute more than people who are born here. But that will not be mentioned.

Because people can't help which country they are born in

If they want a better life and want the opportunity to succeed they should be able to do that wherever they so desire

I'd like to think that if I wanted to move abroad for better opportunities I'd be welcomed with open arms.

Some being the operative word. Which is exactly what Adam is saying. We only want skilled migrants like many other parts of the world. What most don't want is everyone and anyone. That way we end up with more crime, more terrorism and more benefit claimants.

Why? The majority of the people born here aren't worth anything so what's the point.
