The legal rights are alright for the most part for majority of the LGBT community atm.

It would be nice to have a prime minister that fully respected the LGBT community. Don't mean to make it political, i'm just saying

Yeah I was looking at the donating blood page after the Manchester attack happened and saw the thing about gay people not being allowed to donate blood. Was quite shocked really, ridiculous

I have a gay friend who adopted last year and from what he told me that wasn't the case for him. It was a difficult process in general but any meetings he had were always really formal and his sexuality never came into it (he was worried it might have and he'd be questioned/judged on his lifestyle etc... but he wasn't at all), and there were a few straight couples who got taken out of the process along the way (a lot of them got to know each other because there'd be group meetings and things), but the person doing my friends checks and meetings etc was really positive towards him and gave him high recommendations and priority and he was able to adopt much sooner than a lot of other people... so I find all that really reassuring as to the adoption process. Oh and it was just him (not a couple) and that wasn't an issue for them either.

My husband got a call in after the Manchester attack because he's O negative. He does give blood regularly anyway but he gave an extra pint last month.
