Theresa May has 10 days to save her premiership after she was put on notice to “shape up” and show she is fit to lead.

Confidence in the prime minister is in free fall in Tory ranks as constituency party bosses told ministers and MPs to force her from power. Up to a dozen MPs are ready to demand a vote of no confidence in May by submitting letters to the backbench 1922 committee.

Their ranks are expected to swell this weekend as MPs consult grassroots grandees about May’s faltering response to the Grenfell Tower inferno in west London.

The same people that would love her gone realise if she goes then their own jobs will be on the line.
The government at present are not strong enough to withstand a coup and they know it.

Give her a chance-it's an exceptionally difficult time and the country needs a calm cool head-even if a tad emotionally bereft. This recrimination fest continues to feed off itself stoked by the personal ambitions of other protagonists and stirred by hard left opportunism.

I have already posted about this (Stalking horse). They are trying to pressurise her to stick to a hard Brexit or they will proceed with a leadership challenge. You do get I assume that those politians want a hard Brexit - I thought you were against that.

I care about the country and if we're stuck with the Cons then surely they can come up with a better leader for their party.

Labour could also still have a chance to make a move if the Cons can't get their act together very quickly. This UDA thing still hasn't been finalized.

I don't like Mrs May at all and.never have.
However it wouldn't surprise me that they leave her to deal with brexit,hoping for a disaster and then blaming her,with a move to get her out then.

Controversially, I think shes one of the best the Tories have to offer. I prefer that Scottish woman, and maybe Boris. But shes a solid top 5 at least.

This is what always happens in political parties, people with ambition see an opportunity to make a grasp for the top job, try and get support for it, and 9 out of 10 times it fails miserably.

With the shear number of mp's in the party, and the fractured state of the country, there is going to be division. Is anyone seriously thinking labour isn't seriously fractured too?


May will go at some point, no doubt about it, so at some point, the constant media speculation will be correct.

I honestly couldn't care less if she stays are goes, provided the government move forward with a coherent plan, because at the end of the day, thats what actually matters.
