Default I really do think C5 is preparing to evict BB

They're not doing much about ratings or resorting to any gimmicks but I think this is because they just don't care anymore and are just letting it die. The rumours about them experimenting with new formats and how they might be bringing survivor back...
I really do think this is the end for BBUK.
(The civilian C5 era, at least)

The only way people will watch is taking it back to basics people are bored of bb and it's constant twists

I think they've exhausted the format and not given it a chance of a break or anything. They really should've rested it for a bit before taking it on immediately in 2011

This is exactly what I've been thinking too, they're getting ready to shelf it.

Next year it will have an 18-year run. Not many shows can do that, it’s been good x

The entire future of the UK franchise will rest solely on if Endemol will sell one show without the other

They'll want to keep CBB but the non-celeb one comes part of a package. My ideal scenario would be after next year C5 can't afford it and ITV buys the rights. BB would be cute on ITV2 with CBB on ITV after a break lasting a year or two.

I think you are right Tom.

I don't see another channel buying it now, maybe in the future. it does need a bit of a break

Not even ITV2? They might not need it since they have LI and all but they could have a 2 hour timeslot of both shows that could drum up their ratings more

Its extremely hopeful but I really hope there's a break given and then C4 grabs it bc they no longer have a flagship show

There will be twists and new hm's before long i'm sure. They're already releasing voting figures doing Thursday night evictions to try get viewers in.The desperation will continue.
C4 needs to buy it back, make it old school with real contestants and give us 24 hour LF.

I think after a few years, it’s definitely a possibility that it will return to C4. Whether it will be as good as them days is a different question tho x

BB will either appear on MTV as part of a deal with Viacom where the 700k etc is justifiable overnight OR I can see ITV bumping Love Island up to ITV1 and buying BB and putting it on ITV2 and treating it as the Emmerdale to Love Island's Corrie. They'll probably use it as a lead in with BB airing March-May and Love Island airing June-August.

Using an emmerdale to Corrie comparison when Emmerdale has won best soap at the majority of events this past year?

But I agree BB would be cute on ITV.

C4 won't ever want it back, they've become a bit snobbish (even though they have so many trashy shows) and slagged it off so much after C5 bought it.

I used to be against the thought of ITV ever touching BB, but given the great job they've done with the LI revival (which is somehow more true to BB than BBUK currently is) I wouldn't be completely against it? Plus Emma/Rylan both work for ITV too so they she could still host.

But tbh I can just see C5 cancelling civilian and just having summer CBB a month earlier than usual to make up for it.

I mean no matter what channel it goes to it'll probably just be the same stuff we're getting now but with better scheduling and less desperate ratings twists (at the start at least).

Wow just did some googling and I didn't realise that ITV tried to snatch BB back in 2014.

A year before LI 2.0 launched as well, LI might not exist today if they'd snatched it!
