Sorry if this has already been posted, but just a mention of the untimely demise of the footballer Alan Ball at 61 yrs old.
I may be old, but at least that means I can remember watching the World Cup Final on that glorious afternoon in 1966 when we won! Bobby Moore was the golden boy, Geoff Hurst got the hat-trick, but Alan Ball was the man of the match. He ran his socks off that game, a tower of strength, belting up and down the Wembley turf. I was only 15 at the time, and he was only 20. I still remember the day vividly. They were all heroes, and it is sad to lose another one of them. RIP Alan.
