I saw this earlier, it was brilliant. Anyone who's read the book, there are loads of little "callbacks", like streetnames and posters you didn't realise you remembered, if that makes sense? It felt like the Derry from the book, fersure.
It was effectively scary too. It wasn't just jump scares either! |

I'll chip in to the "old movie" thing - watch the first half. As individuals the adult actors are fine, but they're just not as interesting to watch as the kids. Maybe it's the writing in the first half, maybe there was more going on, maybe the kids just had better chemistry together than the adults, but the second half is just boring.

Saw earlier, absolutely brilliant. As terrifying as it is hilarious in parts, the kids are awesome, Bill is awesome as Pennywise. Just so, so good!
All I'm gonna say: the projector scene. Omg, the whole audience SCREAMED! The ushers in the cinema were dressed as IT and people were absolutely petrified, was awesome. |

Saw this earlier and it was FANTASTIC. No other words. Can't remember the last time I enjoyed any film as much as I did this.
It wasn't even necessarily very scary, but it was packed to the brim with charm and The Losers were cast perfectly (and don't even get me started on Pennywise). |

how i'm feeling now

My only criticism is that the film was too reliant upon CGI-scares and some of those scenes felt too abrupt with not enough mystery or build-up, but everything else was brilliant. Extremely well acted and a great script. The chemistry amongst the actors was magnetic, and probably the best part about the movie.

"Produced by Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema, the adaptation of Stephen King‘s thriller scored $117.2 million at the domestic box office during its opening weekend and another $62 million overseas for a total global start of $179.2 million.
The movie smashed records for the biggest box office opening ever for the month of September — and has one of the largest openings of the year. It also surpassed 2011’s Paranormal Activity 3 for the largest opening day for a R-rated thriller, and had the biggest start for any King adaptation (which includes films like Carrie and The Shining)" |
