Saw this last night, absolutely loved it, it wasn't overly scary but I love the whole feel of the film, it reminded me alot of Stranger Things actually

I actually thought the creepiest scene was when Ben was flicking through the book in the library

Ok so I'm scared of clowns now
Absolutely loved it! I agree with what others have said about the cast and the acting, and all of their story arcs, it was all just brilliant. It's probably one of my all time favourite horror movies.

It's excellent, I thought it was well acted and well written. I think some of the characterisations were a bit off (Eddie's backstory feels a bit simplified here) but then again this version of Beverly is probably the best one out of both adaptations AND the book. I also liked some of the changes from the previous versions.
Spoiler: My only criticism is that there was way too much CGI when it came to Pennywise. CGI has little to no place in horror films when it comes to the monsters. Practical effects or nothing. That being said it's still a solid 9/10 and one of the best films I've seen this year. |

Something I noticed in the old film - Mike had no reason to join the others. Stan saw the Mummy in the house in the park, which we learned in the second part, but all Mike saw was a hand poking out of a book. In his shoes, I'd probably wonder if a rock had hit my head or I was just strung out from the rock fight, and probably ignore it. He should have had his own IT encounter, and maybe joined the Losers sooner so they had more of a bond before going into the sewers.

I liked it but a tad underwhelmed that it wasn't scary at all. Probably the most I've laughed during a horror film.

I enjoyed it a lot and especially liked Beverly in this adaptation, I disliked her in the 90's movie and found her annoying in the book too. I actually liked all of the kids really which shocked me as there is usually one irritating weak link.
I though Bill did an amazing job as Pennywise too. Annabelle: Creation probably made me jump more though I have to say.

I saw it, it was really good and I absolutely shat myself when he grabbed Bev in bathroom
It was funny as well, agree with those saying the main characters were likeable. |

Loved this I love films set in the 80's in general, it had Stranger Things vibes The acting was amazing, cast was incredible and the film had so much heart and funny moments that I forgot it was horror, which I like because I don't like being sh*t scared. That being said, my only problem was that I was confused as a person who never read the book, about what Pennywise actually did with the kids. Despite him biting Georgie's arm off, I was under the impression that he was still alive as were all of the other missing children and were just in a floating state like Bev was (even though Pennywise attacked them, because Bill did say it wasn't real when it came to their fears, so it made it look like the children's deaths might not be real either) so I came out of it thinking "what happened to the floating children are they not being reunited with their families?") I also thought the bully killing his dad was strange and then him dying down the well not long after was a bit pointless? I loved Bev's bloody bathroom scene though, again a bit confused how her Dad couldn't see it because it wasn't imaginary seeing as they cleaned the bathroom up.
Looking forward to Chapter 2 (isn't that how Stranger Things title their episodes?) although reading on Wikipedia that it's set 27 years later when their adults was disappointing as I liked the child actors, and made me think that this would have been better suited as a TV series. |

I just saw it earlier and have to say (although I wasn't a fan of the mini series with Tim Curry),this version was amazing. The acting is top notch. I was surprised they went as far as they did in the scene when Georgie was attacked by Pennywise. You don't usually see many scenes like that with kids. As a whole I didn't find it scary at all. I really can't wait to see the next one and will certainly be buying the blu-ray when it comes out.
