Default BB4 housemates warned to keep quiet . . . or else!

Story from Online Daily Record

BIG Brother contestants will be punished if they make too much noise in the garden.

Neighbours were upset by late-night boozy antics on the Channel 4 show, hosted by Davina McCall, last summer.

And when the fourth series kicks off on Friday, contestants will be warned to keep quiet - or else.

If they break the new "good neighbour" rule, they could face food rationing or be ordered to carry out extra chores around the house.

Last year, the late-night rowdy antics of Jade Goody, Kate Lawler and the rest caused a storm of protest from people living near the Big Brother house at Elstree studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.

Neighbours say they will try to have the house shut down if the situation does not improve. Programme makers Endemol are now on trial with the local council. And if they fail to stick to anti- noise conditions, they will have to move.

They have already agreed to set up a soundproof shield around the house, pay £2000 a week to the cost of policing the area and clear audiences from the area by 11pm.

Kay Prentice, whose home backs on to the Big Brother house, said: "Endemol appear to be trying their best. They have promised to keep the noise down wherever possible.

"Everything seems to be a big improvement, but we won't be able to judge until the new series starts."

Last summer, Kay said she sometimes had to shout at the housemates to "shut up" at 4am when they kept her awake.

She added: "Hopefully, it won't be like that again. If it is, we would demand the closure of the Big Brother house."
-------------------------------------------------------------

I do have some sympathy for the neighbours. It was complete madness to build the new BB House slap bang in the middle of a residential area.

I also hope Endemol make a better job of policing the house this year. It was incredible how many people were allowed to get close enough to either shout abuse at the housemates or throw things over the wall. Get your act together!!

A stupid place to put, I'd like to see the house moved, we'd hopefully get rid of those stairs for one thing and I do hope the don't have thier family and friends stood up and herded like cattle in a pen, like last year.

I also hope that the policing around the house is better this year. It didn't have a good effect on the show when the housemates could hear what was being said about them over the walls.

As long as they don't get a Jade I'm sure they'll be ok. I agree about those stairs though, always thought someone would end up going flying on them. Inside and outside the house.

I thought exactly the same when I first saw them, Steve. I remember almost everyone tripping on them on entering the house last year. Downright dangerous.

You would think that they would have looked into things a lot better before putting the house where people are living. I also hope that they have 'sound-proofed' the house this year so that the housemates can't hear the responses that evicted housemates get. It really annoyed me last year.

We would'nt have had Brian Josh Stuart and Ammer arguing if they had been told to keep quite in the garden, it might never had happened that way, so what will it do to the housemates this time

Yet again more short sighted bungling by Endemol / C4. Could you ever trust them to run a welk stall ?

So not only did they lie to us

Manipulate the footage to manipulate the vote.

They deliberately tipped off voters when it was Sandy v Alison v Alex

They manipulated the nominations to avoid a certain eviction possibility.

They tried to get their champion crowned

They used the pychologists to character assassinate everyone but their chosen one.

Now we find out that they caused grief to locals near by

With the way they selected the housemates and the way they were all tanked up on alcohol, what did they expect.

Fingers crossed that they have picked a really good selection of housemates this year.

I agree with you about the alcohol last year. It WAS way too much and, as Kaz pointed out, there could have been a fatal accident. Once again, fingers crossed that they have learned from their mistakes.

Everyone deserves a second chance, Sticks.

Another thing they need to do as well is make the outside look a bit more trendy and not looking like a warehouse. A few solar cells on the outside, more warm looking. Better paint job, how about a great big 3 bladed wind turbine in the garden, and a few rabbits The teletubies house is quite trendy.
