The notes are awful. They don't fold and they're icky to touch. I refuse them and ask for coins.

They're more durable so they don't have to print as many... and also, allegedly, it's to reduce forgeries. Though having seen hundreds of different forged paper notes, I have never seen a convincing one, so I'm not sure what that's all about. In my experience, the problem is always cash-handling inexperience, and not convincing forgeries.
