Yeah..I don't see the point in importing either. Something like eggs...I am sure British (or Irish) farmers produce enough of them. Meat I understand importing as we probably don't produce enough of that (but no chlorinated chicken pleasd...) though all beef and such that I buy tends to be Irish.

We sometimes get freshly laid eggs, though I don't know the name of the hen unfortunately, gavins mother lives next to someone who has hens...also goose eggs but she gives them to other people as for some reason I don't like the thought of goose eggs, even though surely they are no different really Fresh eggs are sooo much better than store bought ones....

I guess it's more of a case of the eggs being used in the premade like sandwich fillers etc. and the sandwich filler is what's made in Holland rather than shipping eggs across. Most stores only sell British lion eggs iirc and they go through extensive licensing etc, I know because we looked into it but we thought it was too much of a faff

Goose eggs are very rich in taste, I don't particularly enjoy them and they're only really good on scrambled eggs, and even them they get sickily quickly lmao
